Libations worthy of the Hinderer Herd....

It's grilling weather today. Love being outside. Even better with a beer.

Chicken thighs rubbed down and ready to go on

Why hasn't someone posted this before!
You're supposed to rub....the chickens thighs!!!
No wonder.

I always end up all sticky and my chicken is dry and bland.

(-:

Thanks, I try and keep it "natural" back here. The front yard is more manicured per wife's orders. But I've fought to keep the backyard more rustic.

Rubicon, it's the cheap meat. You have to make it feel special. Little known secret, the cheap meat has the most flavor.

I bought the latest Sierra Nevada IPA Variety pack and was inspired by their new Blindfold Black IPA. After seeing the OD Green on the Flashpoints, it gave me an idea.

Black DLC Wharnie with OD Green scale and brass standoffs & LBS. Looks real nice.

Always carry, great pictures, and oh that food, I think I can smell it cooking! And great beer, this is my own brew enjoying it while keeping warm today in front of the gas stove.

Very nice to drink your own creation. I've been meaning to get into home brewing, but I might wait for my kids to get a bit older as my free time is limited. I have a friend that's really serious into it so I will have a good teacher.

Thanks guys for the comments. I really enjoy cooking in general. Don't work from many recipes. Like to play around with ingredients and make different flavors.

By the way, that trans green scale looks great. I can't decide which scale I want. The orange is growing on me though.

Ahhh yes F.O. been thinking about picking that hobby up many times. Dunno why I haven't done it yet.

ACAK, great pics - now I'm hungry! I'm not a huge IPA fan, but I do like the Rampant!

Chris, well done w/ the OD on the black DLC! I think you could put just about anything on it and it'll look good!

Gotta love home brew...

What's in the bottle Joe? Looks like you're in the right spot regardless.

It is a Pale Ale, if this weather turns around I plan on raising my own hops this year. My family comes from a long line of wine makers (all Italian), so this beer making has put me on my own path, besides nothing like a cold frothy brew to refresh!

I don't who likes a nice red wine here, but we go nuts for a bottle of Pinotage from South Africa . Has a natural coffee/mocha taste to it.
