Dubs - the BCUSA 10x10 is a good tarp - I've used mine (picked it up used) on 3 trips so far: one of them had some pretty brutal winds, another had rain and I had no issues either time.

I think that's what I'll end up getting. I like that "realtree" camo look, but it appears they're out of em'.

Ok, I got an unexpected $20 pay check from camp for working a morning a couple weekends ago, and I want to try out the RAT 1 that RB turned me on to a while ago.

My question is, I found 2 "different" ones. One that I found from before is Black AUS8 blade, black handle (don't know the material), fine edge, for less than an 11. The second one I found is Satin AUS8 blade, G10 tan handle, fine edge, same price as an 11.

I figure since AUS8 is a stainless I don't need to worry all that much about air rusting, at least during the winter, but if the G10 one is gonna be better, I don't mind dropping the extra few bucks for it.

Does anyone know what the unknown handle material on the black one is?

The handle material is Zytel on the standard Rat 1. Pics when you get it! Such an awesome blade.

Ok, so I just found the OKC site and it says it's Nylon 6, which I assume Zytel is a brand name for?

You still didn't tell me whether to get the desert tan G10 one or the regular one.

Screw it, I'll get the black one. The G10 one jumped $5 between when I loaded the page 20 minutes ago and now.

I've never heard of them being made in G10, can you PM me a link?

If you can get a G10 one, get it. The scales are probably one of the Rat 1's only downsides for me. They are not terrible, but they do not offer a whole lot of grip (the jimping kind of makes up for it though). For the money though, it's crazy how good it is. On another forum someone said "It cost me 1/5th of what my Paramilitary 2 did, but it is %80 percent as good".

Pics inbound in a week or 2.

Is choosing a college based on Conceal Carry laws a bad way to go about it?

Well you might also want to consider Male to female ratio as well..............

Serious answer, yeah probably a bad idea unless you are deciding between a few schools you like equally and this tips the scale in favor of one.

Well, if the only real program I'm interested in is NROTC and I'll just take math and english classes maybe computer science, then that gives me 255 schools across the country to choose from. The only problem is I would prefer Paris Island in NC over San Diego in CA, and the only state that allows me to carry "weapons" to college is Utah.

So you figure if I go to college west of the Mississippi I go to San Diego, but I get to carry my knives while I'm in college. If I go to college east of the Mississippi then I don't get to carry my knives, but I get to go to Paris Island...

Let me clarify this a little bit: Looking for a college with Naval ROTC. After college and NROTC I get sent straight to Boot Camp (opting for Marine Corps, not Navy), but where I go to Boot Camp depends on which side of the Mississippi I reside on, East side being Paris Island, West side being San Diego. I want Paris Island. But I also want to carry my knives where ever I go. Which means Utah looks really good.

AAH that makes much more sense, If you are going for ROTC you have plenty more options. I assumed you were looking to have a specific major or program of study and obviously some schools are better than others if that is the course you are going. I have no idea if its even remotely the same for ROTC but I can imagine that its fairly the same wherever you go.

To some degree it's gonna be the same, except ROTC instructors are required to be veterans, so unlike a lot of teachers with BS degrees teaching BS classes, I can learn something from people that were there.

Just found something about Virginia and carrying, so I'm gonna take a look at that, it might be what I'm looking for.

Well good luck looking man, I can tell you to avoid NY seeing as how here you have to be 21 to even get a CCW and then on top of that some places make you wait like 5 years before you are actually allowed to CCW (where I am this is the case) and completely forget about caring at an actual college up here, I know its Illegal at state schools (where I'm at) and probably not allowed at privet ones either. There has to be something out there that will suit your needs though, just keep looking.

Hey Dubz I found a pocket knife that might be just the right size for your hands ;)
