Limited Edition Tyrade

The handles are not anodized, at least I don't think so. I believe I read that it is a coating that is on the handle and it is tougher than anodizing would be. The color is distinctly bronze and I don't think you could anodize something to the degree of bronze that the Tyrade has!:thumbup::D
 
From the Kershaw website:

Handle: 6AL4V Titanium with zirconium carbo-nitride copper-tone coating and CNC-machined black carbon fiber inlays
 
Mine has some wear on the handle coating from alot of use. It happens.

It's still a massive hunk of awesome blade and Ti :D

Yea sorry bout that, should have wiped the handle down before taking the shots. It's perfect actually.

The Tyrade has PVD coating (zerconium based) for added durability.

Back on topic, I love the look of these Tyrades so far. Really looking forward to having one that I don't mind using:thumbup:
 
I wasn't kicked out. I am "emeritus". I am really looking forward to having one that will justify coming out of retirement to use. :grumpy:

But even this model is too nice to use for THAT! :D

My Tyrade comes tomorrow and I'm pretty darn excited, after seeing all those pictures!
What sold me on it was it's frame-lock, it looks good from the side and the top!
Then seeing it in hand on YouTube showed it's a big knife.
Gotta love a big Ti-handled knife, nothing IMO is classier.

You should be able to find them at all your favorite places, but we haven't even begun to sell them to the base at this point. Don't look for any pre-ordering for at least a few weeks.

Hopefully we will be looking at a late March/early April delivery.
 
Can't wait for these to be available... I have a perfect medium to hold one for me in the perfect setting... :D
 
Anything new on this? I know it has been less than a week, but I am really looking forward to these. Already told my son about them and he is also looking forward to these arriving. Btw, Jill J., how do you like the original Tyrade? STR makes an awesome foldover, deep pocket clip that keeps the Tyrade out of sight while in your pocket.

I liked it just fine, but it had marks on both sides of the blade when I received it from the handle rubbing. (very small but I'm not going for it brand new)
I told the dealer and they didn't want to exchange it for one that was perfect.
Thomas offered to swap it out for one that was perfect if any was left in the factory. But, it was the weekend and he wasn't sure there was any left so I decided to return it where I purchased it for a refund. (there was a time limit to return)
Now I bought the JYD with the composite blade and while it's not as exotic I do like it's grip better and for the price difference I'm pleased!:D
