Limited Editions Released Today (2/19/2020)

I would guess Joe used blades from the BCCI Chipflint Buffalo horn 110/112 from back in 2011-2012. They are the only Chipflint blades that I remember. That would explain the shorter blade. Up until just a few short years ago 112 drop point blades were extremely rare. The very first 112 drop points were modified 500 Custom blades done by Chuck and Leroy. But only a handful were made. My favorite DP 112 blade is the Boone and Crockett 2013 LE. A high radius grind..

It must really look striking Makael if you broke down and bought one..It will make a nice pair with that copper framed unsharpened Club 112 you have! DP I think you are right about the blade coming from a 109 Yellowhorse project. That was the first 112 that had a chipflint blade and predates the Club knifes by quite a few years. I remember seeing a set (5 or 6 different models?) 12 years ago or more here in Florida when there was a real knife shop in Dunnellon. The owner went to the back room and brought it out to show me. He said the black blades were especially rare but I think all the black ones were fixed blades.. farm since you have 2, two of the 112's consider using one as a parts knife! Creating a one of one Custom with the unique handle or blade this one has opens up a lot of possibilities. The high radius grind blade out of the 2013 Boone and Crockett 112 mirror polished would look fantastic with this handle..

In addition to the the 112 I posted yesterday...I received the other two knives I ordered today.

The 640XL is interesting...you can see they used a 124 blade and stamped over it. Is this common for the 640XL? Also interesting that a 124 blade with a 2018 date code would be 440C steel.

That stamp over is . . . really cheap and . . . I won't say what. For the price of that knife ! The knife itself looks amazing !

The knife looks awesome. The sheath compliments it very well.
The fit and finish on it is very well done.
I wish the handle was thicker. It seems a little thin for a fixed blade knife.
As a collectable it's great...…...
My 117s are users. I'll probably send this one back...…. sigh.:(

I like that 640.
It reminds me of a 124 I got from Mike.
The stamp over wouldn't bother me.
If anything it tells the knife's origin.

I called Buck this morning and talked to them about the double-stamped 640XL. They talked to Joe H. and decided to send me a shipping label to send it in so they can address the issue. It will be interesting to see what is done.
