Limited Editions Released Today (2/19/2020)

I called Buck this morning and talked to them about the double-stamped 640XL. They talked to Joe H. and decided to send me a shipping label to send it in so they can address the issue. It will be interesting to see what is done.

Although, now that I think about it - if your knife is the only one with a double-stamped model number - could enhance the collectability / rarity for some people. If all 8 of them are double-stamped in the same way - then I would send it back.

I doubt that there is another, just doesn't sound like something Buck would knowingly do.

The blade is 440C. Specific to the 640. The 124 stamp was done in error. Joe H told me today he was so busy putting all of the LE Knives together he missed the double stamp. Personally i would keep it.

Thanks for the info, I guess I'll hold onto it for now.

Hell yes. It's badass. Double stamp 640/124 440c Buck custom.
yeah at first I was not so sure but then I've been thinking in the future mistakes that have zero effect on function are pretty unique and kinda cool. specially in this rare model. if I had one think id hold it just cause. i like these oddballs with a story of what went wrong behind them like the nickel and brass framed 111s. I got 2 I got from members here who didnt care for the oddballness, which ain't a bad thing either. different strokes for different folks.

Question for you guys on the 112 chip flint. I will post pics tomorrow...Received my 112 Chip Flint Blade, Carbon Fiber, Nickel Silver Bolster knife and the Blade Pin is brass? Also the grind on the blade is really off centered, so I have a really wide edge on one side and a very thin edge on the other (not sure if this is because of the uneven nature of the chip flint). Anyone else order the 112 and have the same issue?

I would assume the chip flint prep would definitely change grind.
