Photos Lion Steel "Roundhead" Barlow PICS

Just went through every post. Amazing . Not sure I saw any posts of the abalone scales though. May have missed it. I wonder if the number produced was somewhat limited perhaps?

I love that abalone I really wish I had it but if we can get a Swayback Jack in abalone then I will be happy.

Excited for more Rams horn!

.......these are very nice indeed..........it'll teach me to turn my nose up at them when introduced, then lose out

:D

You have two very excellent examples, Mark! I like the contrast.
Thanks Dylan! I really like them, for the contrast! To be fair though, almost every Ram's Horn that I've seen has been fantastic. I am very excited for round 2!

Thanks Paul!
Some folks don't care for them, and that's okay, but I think they are great!

I turned my nose up at them at first too. They were introduced as I was getting into more traditional patterns and the melding of a traditional pattern with modern materials and design seemed antithetical to where my newfound interest was taking me. However, as the conversation continued and the enthusiasm grew, I could see the merits and I quickly put one on reserve prior to the first run being released. Due to the delays or simply the unknown timeline, I had to pull my reserve since I couldn't guarantee I would be able to purchase it when it became available. It was a good thing I did because I simply didn't have the funds when they became available and quickly saw them all get snatched up.

However, Mike's announcement of a possible second run put my mind at ease and I've been preparing ever since. I won't miss out this time. :D I think Mike's vision for this knife has produced an instant classic and I think he should be very proud of it.

I would agree, I do not think I have seen a Ram's Horn cover in the many I have seen from the prior run have a disappointing aesthetic. Some have been more striking than others, but they have all been stunning! I told Mike in my order notes that I didn't have a preference for light or dark but that I would welcome the surprise.

It will be nice to see a new wave of photos from the second run. Mike’s FB post showed a couple today.
I reserved a Shuffler in white carbon fiber, but I’m afraid I may not be able to warm up to it.

Fantastic Mark!!! Lion Steel does use some eye catching horn!:thumbsup:
Looking forward to your review especially if it contains a little comparison of the two releases.

Padruig... Save your pennies, nickles, and dimes, you won't regret it. I have the Roundhead in CF and love it. The spear isn't my favorite blade shape, but this is my favorite knife. It's perfectly made, and with the M390 steel, could only be bested by a clip version. I'm so glad the Shuffler is soon to arrive. I've reserved a Ram's Horn, and have the money saved for this one. After this one comes, I won't need to be buying any knives for quite some time. The clip point and the "thinner behind the edge" change should make this my grail knife.
