Received a couple of Roundheads the other day. Love them.
My ram had a pretty big gap between one of the covers and the liner. I carefully removed the screws. I thought the culprit was the way the pins had been peined (peened?). But I put the cover on my other Roundhead (with covers that fit flat) and it didn't fit there either. So I figured it was a problem with the holes milled into the horn.
Turned out to be pretty minor; it was just remnants from the milling that were not fully removed. I scraped them out with an exacto-knife. Problem seems largely solved. There's still a little gap in between the cover and liner, but I think that is because the cover actually bent a bit when it was screwed down tight while having no place sufficient for the peined pins to go. I'm hoping it will flatten out in time. In any case the gap is MUCH smaller now.
This little issue aside, I think the consistency on these is really a feather in Lionsteel's cap! Pretty remarkable. I've had 5 or 6 go through my hands. And the ram is some of the best I've ever seen on knives. So much fun to see all the different variations. I suspect I won't be able to resist reserving a ram every time it's offered.
