Lion Steel "Roundhead" Euro-Barlow

Can anyone comment on what the copper-colored lubricant is (maybe I answered my own question) and if others' knives have this?

All the reports I've read have stated up to .004" thinner behind the edge. Not much. But, depending on your sharpening, might be noticeable.

I was hoping for more than that. Even after thinning down my Gen 1 is still the thickest behind the edge of any traditional I own. 1.5X thicker than a 93mm SAK.

Going below 20/1000ths is not something we are interested in doing with the factory. 20-23 is the goal on this model. Folks that need sub-20 BTE are probably accustomed to tuning it themselves.

Mine after thinning down (I didn't measure it prior) is 0.0267". I would have been pretty happy with 0.02". What are the current knives measuring at?

First one I picked up was 0.022"; but I didn't have any of the ones I measured in the first batch run over 0.027" so my micrometer might be broke ;)

I think this is smart, actually, and is my preference. Not because I like thicker blades, but because I like to tune my own ;)

Nice collection. I'm stuck deciding between the bone micarta and the black carbon fiber. Which do you like better?

Thanks! The Dom with carbon fiber is probably my favourite. Also reserved a Shuffler with mixed carbon fiber. Then I will have three different shades/patterns of carbon fiber; white (silver twill), black (rectangle) and shuffled black. The white micarta is a different kind of micarta than on a benchmade proper for example. This white will probably not show any discolouring. But I am no expert on micarta. I just liked the 'bland' look because my others have texturing / pattern. It looks like white chocolate.
