LionSteel Shuffler

Kind of odd that it would have blade play... Should be a simple adjustment of the pivot torx screw as Mike has suggested. These aren't pinned like typical traditional patterns so I would think adjustments could be made rather easily.

That would be the first I have heard of any play. Since it was second hand have you checked the pivot torx? Have you oiled the joint? Can't help with the lettering, it is the same as every LionSteel I have handled.

Thanks for the reply. I played with the bolster screws briefly without finding a sweet spot. I may have been able to with more effort, but did not pursue further. I did not flush/oil. I decided it needed another home rather than going through the effort. I don't mean this to be rude, it just wasn't a fit for me. I definitely appreciate the progressive effort.

The lettering is interesting. I don't know enough about the process to comment intelligently, but my observation was that my first gen Roundhead lettering was flush, while the Shuffler was rough enough to gather (and sort of embed) lint from my pocket during the brief time I carried it.

The bolster screws just hold the bolsters on. You would need to remove the bolsters completely to acess the pivot screw.
I am pleased with the fit and finish of mine and have no blade play issues. Glad Mike made the effort to hring us something new like this series.

Underneath the bolster mark-side there is a pivot screw that can be adjusted. Another beauty to this model's characteristics Edit: Heirphoto Heirphoto beat me to it.

Good to know. I'm sure I'll give the next run a shot. Thanks.

I had pre ordered one of these but was unable to buy it I do hope to get one later on the secondary market. I think I would really like the clip point.

Nothing wrong with the sharpness out of the box. M390 can do better though. Spent an hour or so on the KME with it. 18 degrees is about the best I can hit with the KME at this blade thickness.

Whoops. Went to 1500 grit on the stones then stropped it up.

The blade skipped and I ended up with two super clean cuts. It's mine now.

I've put a 15 degree edge on my Shuffler with the Edge Pro with a steeper micro bevel by hand, finished on a loaded strop. I used it to filet a steelhead the other day, and when I was done, I could easily shave with it. The job would have knocked the fine edge off a lesser steel. Sure glad to get a thin bladed M390 single clip in my pocket.

There isn't much not to like about these folders, fit and finish, at least on this example of mine, are exceptional, my only critique as mentioned before was it could stand to be ground slightly thinner but, that is very much a personal preference, as she does cut quite well as she sits, so thinner may not prove to be that much of a need, always liked but not that big a deal ;)

I've studied the action of the knife and the geometry of the tang. I've determined that, as others have suggested, the reason the pull feels light to me is that the corners of the tang to break the blade from closed to half and from half to open, are rounded to make that part of the pull lighter/smoother. But when comparing the actual weight of the spring on the open blade, it seems to be on par with an average GEC #15.

Suddenly taken to these, and the Spear blade version. But only in Ram's Horn, preferably Blonde, mind you, many of the Brunette ones are very attractive too!
