LionSteel TRE flipper with 2.91" M390 blade CF/TI/G-10

I really like it. People who dont like it dont like it. Nothing wrong with that. I actually love it. And I like a knife that gives me the option to remove a feature that later down the road I may get sick of. Another added advantage is that the topic of flippers is a polarizing one. Either you like them or dont like them. I prefer them but what If I went to sell that knife and a guy who only likes thumbstuds? He has the option to remove that feature and not have if infringe on his tastes and can install it again if HE decides to sell it. I cant tell you how many times I saw a knife and went, no flipper no mas. Im sure others see the flipper and say the same thing. Now both people can have their cake, eat it and exchange that knife and not have the "flipper" be a deal breaker.

I like the design, don't like the removable flipper though. I'd be happy with it with or without a flipper, if made into 2 individual models, it would remain awesome - maybe even more so.

Much rather have two seperate models. Dont feel like worrying if my flipper tab screw is loose, or even loosing my flipper but I get why some people like it.

Seems like cases where innovation is condemned simply due to a layer of complexity added. I look at it as a versatile platform adaptable to various markets & legalities. Notice the just under 3" blade and the ability to forsake one-handed opening.

I commend LionSteel for their foresight and innovation.

I just hope the package in full Ti dress comes in at under $400!

Thank to all of you for the feedback, in this moment all of them are usefull.

Full Titanium and Carbon Fiber handle:
- removable thumb stub and flipper.
- wood box with knife Key Ring and all accessory
- Solid Titanium Spacer
- Solid Titanium clip

G10 Handle:
- Blade with flipper NOT removable
- NO thumb Stub

So if some user do not like the possibility to take away the flipper can buy the G10 version.

Love the innovation that LionSteel is bringing to the knife industry. I personally only had one, a Ti Sr-2, and was impressed with the quality.
I'm pretty sure i will try this one :)

Beautiful... If only it wasn't so small.. :-/
(Before I get jumped on, I am fully serious... Preference for most folders is at least 3.75)..

Beautiful knife. Great idea making the knife more or less customized for the individual user and his carry preferences of the day. Nice looking box and tools to go with it. The pivot looks nicely done and I personally really like the way they made the swedge appear like a harpoon without actually being one. Nicely done. I'd rather pay 350 USD or so for this knife than many already available in the same price range. I'm paying attention to this knife.

Looking more closely even the lockbar jimping is artfully and tastefully done. There's a lot of detail work with the knife, something you only see in a custom.

You definitely got my attention Lionsteel. I love the size sledge and flexibility of the design. I have never bought a Lionsteel before but I will definitely give this guy a look.

This knife looks awesome. Hopefully more manufacturers follow suit with 3" flippers, people (at least on the forums) have been begging for more for some time.
I'm looking forward to pics of the g10 version.
Today 280 euros is $323.71, 190 euros is $219.66. Assuming that prices stay more or less even, the street price on these should be quite attractive.

In Europe there is 21-24% VAT included in the price, in the usa not applicable ;)

It's a great looking knife. A quality half ti half CF flipper for a reasonable price is right up my alley. As with others, I don't really see the point of the removable flipper, though, so I will have to decide whether to get one or wait around to see if they eventually bring out the ti/CF version with the simple flipper blade.

So if I understand you correctly, MSRP is $258.97 and $166.48 for the CF/Ti version and the g10 version respectively.

Using the current exchange rate of 1€=$1.16 it's $323.71 (€280) and $226.60 (€196) respectively.
