:), indeed!

Any time you want to come take pictures of my knives, let me know. You do such a good job with yours.

Most recently an ivory bone Conductor I just traded for , but I always have one that size in pocket. I really like the "nut", the mini copperhead, and several old Imperial and Boker small "deuces". Its plain hard to pick just one...Herb

I don't think anyone has mentioned the Case Gunstock (6215). Its about 3 inches closed with a nice long main blade and nice secondary pen. Long pull on the main spear and I think some have a clip main. Nice little deuce

Yes it is, thanks, a very nice one, it did have some edge thinning though, and now cuts like a razor.
It has the right amount of snap, and is very easy to open and close, with a bit rounded half stop. One of my favorites for sure, and even my wife likes that one.
And yes, for most i see, going to traditional knives from modern tactical is a no return path, as I've learned myself.

You want to hear something funny? When I inquired about why he decided to stick with traditionals he gave me a simple and concise answer: They cut things better. :p

My buddy found out first hand how a thin blade like those on traditionals cuts and how they can get into and out of a small area. He is fairly hard on knives and just plain likes the way they perform. The mindset of walking away from a locking mechanism is a large one. To me it changes the entire purpose of a knife... but in a lot of cases there is a reward for doing so on the performance side. At least in some areas.

I'm glad someone thought of the SBJ, I figured it's gotta be close to 3 1/4.

Mine was along for a double shift yesterday and did some cutting duty so it was happy and so was I :D

Oh yeah, my Case small Gunstock is a sweet small jack. Great blade swedges, and I managed to get a Zippo Swap Meet collectable for a good price. Two birds with one stone!

Thanks for the suggestion, Gevonovich! I didn't know Case made a Gunstock in that size range. I just looked at some and they look pretty good.

Top L to R: Boker Barlow, Case SBJ, Gec 25, GEC 25, Gec 25

Bottom L to R: Queen Serpentine Jack, Case Small Coke Bottle, Case Pocket Hunter, Case Peanut, Case Tiny Trapper

Peanut trumps 'em all for size:utility ratio IMO, and is the only one that regularly gets carried. ;)

Nice spread there, Keith! I have one of the single blade Pocket Hunters in CV.

What is the scale material on your Pocket Hunter?

Hi Rick! The material is jigged bone, but I don't know what color to call it now. It started out life as red, but had that white/pinkish color near the bolsters that I wasn't crazy about. I'm wracking my brain trying to remember exactly what I did to it, and can't recall the procedures I used on this particular knife. I've experimented on a few different knives, in different ways, to change the color of bone - some fairly successful, some not. I think I'd call this one deep wine. :D

Thanks, Keith. It looks good from what I can see in your pics. Mine is red bone too and it has that same pinkish color that you describe.

I'm rather fond of these two. The mini copperhead is my most pocketable knife and the little Vom Cleff is a little razor.

Can you tell me more about the Vom Cleff? Those scales are to die for beautiful. How old is it?

Wonderful knife.

Carl.

Now you guys have me looking for Case small Coke bottle's...that's a great looking knife and just right for the coin/watch pocket.

I got it in a giveaway from navihawk believe it or not. I have tried to find out more about it but all I know is it was made somewhere between 1887 and 1930.
The pile side scale was replaced at some time with an incredible piece of stag. I'll need to get a picture up. It is one that I'll be buried with.

Thanks for the info. I can well understand your being buried with it. I'm not really sure why, but the older knives seem to push some button in me more than the stuff being made now. They have a look and feel that is gone. That Vom Cleff is like that. Great knife!
Carl.

Thanks Carl. The old ones just seem to have that certain je ne sais quoi.

the case sbj would be on here but Mine has side to side play that I cant stand probably going to have to send it in to case for them to fix it. but I do like the pattern

As you'all are aware, I am of limited resources in these examples that do not start in B. But, I have had this one a while and it has never yet told me it wanted to move on. I can't bring myself to sharpen it, maybe who ever it visits next will sharpen it and make it an occasional EDC. I could see it being carried in a nice, light, suede vest pocket...... 300Bucks
