• Happy Thanksgiving to all of you! I hope that you all have something to be grateful for this year and for many years to come
  • America has reached 250 years, and I am grateful to be here, in the best country in the world. Thank every one of you who helps make this country a better place, those who have gone before and risked it all, and those who've paid the ultimate price to make the United States what we are today.

Happy Birthday America! Let Freedom Ring for all time!

Little deuce's?

I've edc this 1950s Wostenholm sleeveboard pen with faux ivory scales recently. The carbon blades sharpen nicely.

A nice brown barboard version of that black Case Medium Jack showed up today. I like it. I like it a lot.

I'm a little surprised the 309 Buck is not used more by people of our affliction. After seeing what my friend Wayne puts his little companion through, I've gained a lot of respect for the thing. Now with the yellow scales available, it's getting pretty traditional.
Carl.

I beg to differ...

Great thread Carl. It is partly your influence that got me started with small slip-joints, and I have gathered myself some different patterns over time.

The "little deuces" are probably my favorite EDC knives. I am almost never without a little deuce of some sort.

This older Henckels I found at a pawn shop. An easy 10 dollars spent. It is quite thin, and literally disappears in the pocket. It packs a fair amount of sharpened edge for its humble size.

This 309 I scored off the Buck specials page. It is the tank of my group, having integral bolsters and more thickly ground blades.

I couldn't help myself to picking up a conductor, what with all the praise. Lucked out on a Kauri model that popped up recently.

Last but not least, I won this Camillus on a bladeforum giveaway. It is the most carried of the little deuce group. I am a big fan of the sheepsfoot blades for EDC.

Thanks for looking!

Carl, Your stories and some memories of my childhood scoutmaster also inspired me to put away the canoe I had been carrying and break out the little Case model#62087 that my wife and kids bought me about 10 years ago as a sunday "go-to-meeting knife and you know what it does everything my big lockblades did but with a little more "class" Thanks

I'm so weak - I just picked up another one. This time it's a little USA Schrade 104OT Minuteman.

I've recently gotten one of those little beauties. Great little knife, it almost disappears in your pocket.

There are a few little deuces in this image. I finally rounded up most of my little guys last night for a group photo.

I'm trying to figure out how you close the box.

Real fast?

(Very nice.)

~ P.

Not really. You put the knives in their individual slots in the tray that's off to the side, then put the tray in the box and close it. ;) I took 'em out and put them on the inside of the lid for the picture. That's a box for storing/ carrying pastels, I got it at the art supply store. It has 2 trays, and might as well have been custom made for storing little knives. Hardshell aluminum with individual padding for each knife? Aw yeah. Classy to the hilt. ;)

And thanks!

ETA- this is the thing. I dig it.

This will be the next step once that case is full. It'll take some time (and serious $$$) to fill this one up. :)

That box is a fantastic idea! I've been trying to figure a way to store my smaller knives without using a big ole knife roll. Thanks for the idea!

My pleasure! These things work really well too. Global Art pencil cases, I have and use several of these. All but the biggest slip joints fit nicely.

I can see I'll be heading to the art supply store this weekend, my little knives are all stuffed into a tin on my dresser that is now just too small for 'em, and they're not happy.

That aluminum case will go nicely with my glass topped aluminum watch cases too

Just got these two on Friday:
