Live from Montana Knifemakers show

I'm back to editing guys but did have a chance to stop by Bob Crowder's table and did score one of the dups of the club knife. Bob will be doing me a couple of other knives in the future which will be departures for him but with his skills, I'm sure they will be terrific.

well, after a few hours of editing, we have some more photos of the show from yesterday. won't get them all up now as there is a banquet to attend but will try to get more before the show ends

here is a large bowie called the Montana Bear Hunter - I just forget the makers name

while these two knives were not award winners, Dan did win two awards -- Best Miniature and Best Damascus which hopefully I'll get photos of at some point

last one for awhile as we have to prepare for the banquet. Here is a fine Italian style stilleto -- lockback but one hand opening non-auto by Randy Williams. This knife left the country for France to a collector who also got a nice fighter from Bob Crowder (same design as one I have had for a few years)

this honey buffalo was gorgeous but there is another that is close without the guared that will also leave the country

Thanks for the photos and the overview of the show.

The material used for the handle on the knife in post 15 looks to be Steller's Seacow bone.

Hey Murray,

That hunk of mammoth tusk on the bottomt right would make an excellent souvenir.... and you did forget my birthday, so.... :)

Thanks for the look at the show - you guys travel safe on the way back.

I was noticing that one and the big boy on the bottom left. That's some GREAT color.

Awoke at 4 am and was unable to get back to sleep so here at 5:30 am I'm posting some more photos of the show.

Richard Wheeler is a first year maker and while learning, he is presenting some interesting handle work as these few images will convey

Kevin & Roger, the gentleman selling this material was the keynote speaker and had a lot of interesting things to reveal about the changes coming in the ability of makers to obtain and sell natural materials and it will certainly affect collectors. I'll also try to get a shot of a tusk that Chuck Bybee has at his table. Quite an item for sure.
