Livesay Neck Knives..

I ordered a NRG non metallic knife back in 2001 with no problems.

Keep hounding him, IF he does ship, he'll ship to the "squeaky wheels" first and ignore the ones who politely wait.

I finally got Newt to break the silence. Apparently he's having "email problems"?? Whatever...

My story doesn't end well. I moved a month after ordering my NRGS from Newt, not knowing it was going to take so long to actually GET my knife. "Your knife is ready to ship" means...I want your money and I'll ship your knife sometime in the next 90 days! I emailed him and gave him my new address 5 FRICKEN TIMES to make sure he didn't send it to the wrong address. 2-days prior to "shipping" I emailed him AGAIN and confirmed my new address...guess where my knife went??? Yep...to the old address and it got sent back. WTF?

At that point, I "pulled the pin" on the deal and requested my money back. Surprisingly, Newt replied and agreed to send my $54.60 back. We'll see when I get it and what address it goes to. This has been the worst online experience I've ever had.

I'm off to order my ESEE Izula now...pretty sure they'll deliver it.

January 5th...still no refund. Newt said he was sending it on Wed., 12/29 Does this guy not know where the Post Office is??? Avoid this guy, unless you like pissing your money away, you've been warned.

Newt's knives are great knives for the $ so for those concerned about delivery, try the secondary market if ya really want one.

Just to check it out, and the price was very attractive. Unfortunately I had to hear all the lame excuses (health/hospital problems) and shipping promises for 8 months, before getting the wrong knife. He has a new twist, where he has someone else (I think this person may be a relative) respond to your email stating that Newt is temporarily out of touch, but rest assured, he will make good on your purchase! The folder, by the way, was a very poor attempt, and not worth the wait. But it only cost me $55 and 8 months waiting to find this out. For such a small amount of money, the lengths he went to was very surprising and leads me to believe that he is very comfortable doing this for any order placed.

In 2001 there were very few problems indeed. They started shortly thereafter.

Never had a problem with the knives, even though they came sharp as a brick.

Delivery is another matter entirely.

you know this industry primarily is built on making a name for yourself, knife quality is almost secondary.. the two however coincide.. Newt makes awesome knives, I have never heard anyone say anything negative about his knives, this guy could be making a fortune, and still has that opportunity if he made a complete turn around and went above and beyond expectations from the reputation he's destroyed..

if he truly was having health problems, he should have shut down orders or was up front and say this may take a year to turn around.. randalls have a 58month wait.. not for me, but others are buying adn waiting..

sure would like his necker though, its a shame..

Actually, the man posting directly above you posted that his knives came sharp as a brick. Pretty sure that's not a good thing, in reference to a knife. My personal opinion, and I HAVE posted it before, is that Livesay knives never appealed to me; for the most part, due to the fact that I could never find one that was evenly ground. Yes, the knives were/are cheap enough; but, some of us like to get a little more picky than that. ;)
