I am very glad that those of you that have taken orders are pleased. Marko - both sides of the Cocobolo look great !!:thumbup::D

Birds of a feather ............. flock together ! :D

I have noticed that while carrying the Whitetail and Muley in the KSF sheath - the Muley handle pokes my lower waist a little bit (below my belt), when driving a car. The Whitetail does not. ;)

Thanks Roberto! I like the two "Birds of a Feather.....Flock..... to kick-butt knives! :D

Alright! I'm working on putting together a full review, but I thought I'd update with some pics until then.

Long story short: I love this knife. Everyone claimed that it would "disappear in my pocket". Being at least half of a hipster, I thought that there was no way that the knife and sheath would actually disappear in my jeans, but they do!

The size is also great. I have medium to large hands, but I can still get a really solid grip. And I've found myself playing around with different grips for different tasks. I even cut a whole bunch of limes and lemons for a wedding that I'm bartending together and it's already developing a nice smoky grey patina. Anyway, here are some pics!

Last thing:

In response to the question about the edge being convex, it isn't. However, I've been stropping it after use (which brings it back to shaving sharp very quickly) so I'm sure that it will be somewhat convex before too long!

Primble - Beautiful pics sir  Thank you for posting those.

Beautiful knife VE! Good to hear your take on it and see some great pics.

Can't wait to see more. :):D

I have not learned the lingo for edges but I have a question for those that have Humphrey knives, not just the whitetail.
I noticed on my maple the edge is more symmetrical. The edge on the cocobolo rises a bit higher on one end compared to the stamped side. Im sure this is not a big deal, and can easily be fixed, but I was wondering how every one elses came?

Should I just stick with the profile it has or try to reprofile it?

Maybe these questions are more for maintance and tinkering but I thought it was relevant for this discussion.

Lon seems to be the type of guy to touch it up but I haven't wrote him about it.

I'll try to get a pic when I can.

VE - That maple really is awesome!

Jon - I can't wait to see that hunter! :D

Got my Hunter in cocobolo today. Was happily surprised to see it's a tapered tang!
Very comfortable and begs to be used hard.

Jon that may be the best piece of cocobolo I have ever seem buddy! Man, how wish the would stop growing cocobolo to harvest, or at least find a way to provide more burl cocobolo.

Great looking piece of steel! It looks to be the same thickness as the whitetail.

Congrats

Just got my Whitetail today. Very happy with it. That is all I can say.

I am calling it Comet for the fire ball marking on the handle.

Great thread. I also have been tossing around the idea of getting one of Mr. Humphrey's nice knives for a while now. After seeing this thread, I ordered one. A Whitetail in Cocobolo. There are some very nice looking Maple handled ones as well. I really like Jon's Hunter, very nice!

Phil - Please do share your thoughts and a pic on two when it arrives good sir. :D

Congrats!

I ordered one last Friday, should be here tomorrow. My first fixed blade, Whitetail in cocobolo. I have to blame Brett and this thread. :)
