I had one awhile ago.. It was one of the ones he did with the leather/kydex sheath..

Good knife he runs them a little soft at the edge and they are very stout. I could of probably pry open a door with mine and i love the little hammered gaurd he does.

MtBlair - Thank you for a great write up! I went with the Whitetail over the Muley because my Drew is at 7" and I wanted a smaller blade. I also thought the Whitetail would pocket better like you mentioned.

One thing I do like in the Humphrey is that it is 1095. As I carried a PSK in elmax I always felt I couldn't touch up the edge away from home like I could with 1095.

David - I will say that a Bailey is on my wish list but probably not in my budget. :D He does make some amaizing knives. Maybe one day I'll save up for one.

Todd - Thanks for the pics brother! Always good to see beautiful knives.

If I write up a review when I receive it, is it against the rules to post a link in this thread to my review?

All four of the Whitetails that I ordered were listed at 5.7 inches...

You say Four Whitetails in this post, Then you say:

I bought two Cocobolo Whitetails, one Ebony Whitetail that I sent to Stephen, and one Cocobolo Muley. You sound like my son used to sound. My money and stuff was his and his money and stuff was his ! ;):D:D:D

:confused: And I sound like your son?:confused::barf::barf::eek: Have you been in the Sun all day? You may have C.R.S. .......... Can't Remember Sheet!:confused::D:D:D

Mark - My bad - I declare it a typo ! I guess I have ordered so many that I lost count. Be kind to your elders sonny boy - oops - well - you just sounded like my son used to sound - sorry ! :D

Coincidentally - I did take my walk late this morning and then mowed, so I was in the hot sun for a while. ;):D

Todd - the knife pictured is a Muley I believe, but, it looks great ! My soupbone looks nice in the scabbard with the Whitetail. ;):D:D:D

Totally right. A Muley. Had a whietail and like this one better.

To answer Mark, I have used this one, but it looks just like this after use. I wipe my knife off after every use and touch up the edge as well. Love how easy it is to sharpen.

Whitetail helped with dinner tonight. Glides through grilled chicken and corn on the cob.

That looks delicious Roberto!

Could you please take a photo with the Whitetail and an open Case SBJ side by side and post it? After you're done chowing of course!

Thanks,

Your son Marko :D

Dang Primble!

Please don't tell me you can cook as good as you can take pictures?

I am a pretty good cook Jon. I credit my mother and her sister for the lessons. They were farm girls that grew up cooking every day for their four hungry brothers. Their mother passed away from pneumonia when my mother was 6 months old. Thanks Jon !

Mark - it is getting dark now and thunderstorms are booming. This harsh lighting pic will have to do.

By the way - my dinner was delicious ! ;):D

I like the Muley a lot too Todd. I am happy to have both. The Whitetail is just a little more pocket friendly. :)

Yep - they are really stout feeling knives for their size and very well might be able to pry open a door and get away with it, but, I think I might stick with a tool made for that rather than risk it. :D

Whitetail with a side of corn, potatoes, and chicken looks wonderful. I'm getting hungry for mine to arrive!

Thank you for the comparison shot as well Primble!

I personally am glad to hear the Whitetail is stout.

My mom is from SE KY, around Jackson and Beatyville.

Her's and my grandma's cooking were amazing as well :)

Thanks for the picture Roberto!

Here is a picture of a small fixed blade I made (middle) and the large one I made, both in 01 tool steel. I'm giving the small one to Ryan. :)

Here's mine next to a delica

This thread won me over on Lon's knives.

I went ahead and got a hunter :)

Not sure I need it, but man is it a beauty!!

Dang! Those are stout! I like it. :D

Jon - Thank you for the video! That really was a great viewing of them.

That Hunter is a beaut! Love the grain on that one! Congrats

Maybe I should just change the title to this thread to include all Lon Humphry knives. I have what I was looking for in the whitetail, and it would be nice to learn/compare about his other knives since we have already included the Muley and now the Hunter.

Thanks Brett, the grain is what won me over.

For being such a small-ish knife, the White Tail is indeed STOUT!!

Not sure if you follow his vids, but Doggorunning is a great traditional knives channel and showcases Lon's knives quite often.
