Sorry pal, I remember looking it up when you first started posting! :o I made another attempt to get a copy yesterday, it's kind of pricey here, but I don't mind that, and am sure I'll track a copy down before too long :thumbup:
 
In the excellent book by Larry McMurtry, he makes very clear mention of Gus's rusty old clasp knife that he trims his nails with. Gus expressed the opinion on the front porch that the Colt revolver made all other weapons obsolete. Been many years since I read the book, but that sticks in what's left of the rest of my mind. :confused:

Thanks to everyone for all of the information and reminders about the show. Al, I cannot thank you enough for all of those screen shots. Regardless of the customers order I will be referencing those for myself!

I still haven't quite figured out where the customer saw the knife he drew up for me but it doesn't resemble anything I've found from the movie. At least the research has been enjoyable for many of us.

I'll give him what he wants. He can call it Gus' knife or Bill or Bob (or anything but Sue). It's a short stout bowie that he's wanting. It will still be fun to make.
