What has been your favorite knife. Longest edc.
Most satisfying knife?

I've got Sebenzas, Spydercos, Benchmades, buck slipjoints, case slipjoints, custom slipjoints, swiss army knives, bark rivers.

For whatever reason my yellow handled CV sod buster jr. is probably my favorite. It is simple and it works. A great slicing blade, it goes through stuff better than any of my other knives. Cheap enough that if it goes missing it doesn't break your heart.

I guess that one is mine, whats yours?

The only EDC I've had that has survived through a full year of what I use it for at work has been my BRKT Bravo 1. Prior to it, I'd never carried a fixed blade daily. Now I don't know that I'll ever go back to carrying a folder.

My EDC Bravo 1 has cut plastic gas main (3/8" walled polyethylene 2" pipe), stripped the outer sheaths of phone cables, cleared branches and bushes, dug a couple of holes, and is still one of my sharpest knives. Granted, I've had to sharpen it several times, but it doesn't take much to give it a good edge and it holds it better than most of my other knives.

It's not as pretty as it used to be by any means, so I bought a second one to keep as a safe queen.

I had an SAK (not sure the model) Not too thick - 2 blades, a saw, std screw driver, corckscrew, a spike, and a bottle opener. I carried this from the age of 7 (birthday present from dad) until I bought a Bucklite at the age of 16. Then a Benchmade pinnacle (sebenza copy...) until I was 25 (in 2001). In 2001 I bought my first custom blade. My RJ Martin Manta Ray. It's on my belt now as I type. I have also had a Leatherman (several models) with me for the past 10 years.

The SAK was the longest to be beaten out by the Leatherman.
Although my Manta Ray is very close behind at this point too.

For practicality... definately the Leatherman.

I carried a Kershaw Leek for a long time. Its been a good knife.

I did finally retire it a couple months ago. I need to get another one to replace it.

I also have Sebenzas and have owned customs (don't like them, they are too pretty and expensive for me to use so I usually end up selling them and buying 3-4 production knives that I can use). I like the Sebenzas (I've had all three models plus a Zaan), but I buy them used so that I am not afraid to scratch them. My Micarta Inlay Large Classic is right up there, but it hasn't been with me for as long as my BM710D2 or Spyderco Manix. I still carry both of these regularly and have modded them a bit to my liking. The wear doesn't show on either (thanks to satin blades and G-10), but they have been through a lot over the past few years.

Benchmade 710 in one pocket every day for the past three and a half years, and a Vic Soldier in the other pocket since 2003.

I'm going to replace the 710 with a Paramilitary in the next month or so, but I see no reason that Soldier won't be riding in the bottom of my pocket 20 years from now.

For Sd and back when i worked in a deli and sliced meat my best friend was an emerson k-bit, now though i usually have an ontarion rat-3 in my pocket, between the two i dont really need any other knives for day to day task however soon the RAT h.e.s.t will be out and i think it may become my permenant EDC knife, its got everything i want in just the right package. Oh and of course either a leatherman crunch or wave dont really consider multitols knives tho and i always hav eone stashed somewhere :D

1. A Buck 112 my parents gave me for my 21st birthday. Carried it daily for 8 years until it was stolen.

2. Kershaw Vapor my daughter gave me in the summer of 2003. It never left my side for 4 years. Say what you will about AUS-6; a good hard use knife that took what I threw at it. Sharpened it so many times there is not a lot of blade left, so I stopped carrying it.

3. Right now a Buck Mayo Northshore. It begins to lose its edge if you look at it hard, but that 420HC is really easy to sharpen. I almost always carry at least 2, usually 3 or 4, knives, but this Northshore always seems to be one of them. I just love the way it looks and feels in my hands. Someday gonna be able to afford a Mayo TNT, or if I hit the lottery, a custom Mayo.

I have been using a bm 710 d2 for about 2 years now. She is off to Krein for a reprofile to get rid of the recurve. I could sharpen it bt not get it even or as sharp as id like.

I recently got a large 21 seby. It will be my edc for years to come.

Also just got a spyderco para mil and love it as well.

FOr me I will edc these knives for a long time assuming they hold out. I know my bm 710 will take it and ill see about the other two but Im pretty confident they will be great.

I also use a BRKT Bravo 1 for camping/hiking but it isnt an edc:) ( I do love the knife though)

Victorinox Explorer. About thirty years and a S&W Extreme Ops for about the last ten, in addition.

The knife I keep going back to time and time again is my large CRKT S2. I love how light and strong it is and I find the blade shape useful for everything I come across throughout the work day. My other I keep as a constant companion to whatever larger blade I happen to carry is an old Case toothpick.

my yellow handle large case trapper, has been in my pocket everyday since I got it. I've carried another blade along with it, but it fits all of my needs

I have a custom by Micheal Cooper (L6 steel)
I think I've had it for 8years.
It has been beaten on, batonned, gutted moose and bear, cut day to day stuff and is awesome for spreading PB&J
It is a spear point, but I have worked around it. It is still as tight as the day I got it,just worn a bit. I seem to take it out in the field only, now a days prefering a smaller blade for town.
Mike called it his Big Ugly knife
I will be carrying it as I head off on a backpacking trip along the Lake Superior cost next week
It has outlasted some folders from some of the best and famous makers
Micheal if you are still on BFC, thanks you built a fine knife

I rotate through maybe a dozen EDC knives, but the one that probably has had the most pocket time over the last several years has been the lowly Delica. An Victorinox Explorer Plus is always in my pocket, no matter what folder I'm carrying.

Spyderco Delica 4 is my most recent long term EDC, about a month straight now.
My longest would be my CRKT M16 that was given to me when I was in 7th grade, I carried that for about 3 years

Wow! Eight years I'd like to see a picture of that one.

I've got to figure out a knife to carry and stick with. I think my record is about two months straight with a delica 4.
