Well atleast I think I scored, all are sterile so maybe they are knock-offs ; )

I got them from a guy on craiglsit of all places. He didnt seem to have the most spot on knowledge of the blades. He called the aa a busse knuckle knife, the nick a busse butcher knife & the NARK a satin Busse. He wasn't giving them away but I still managed to get a good deal if its true INFI.

When I got the NARK I thought it was a normal run. Thanks to some helpful forumites, I was provided with info stating that it is 1 of 6 (24 if you include all variations). Planned to sell it & the Nick to offset the AA price, but I have recently come to my senses as they are both just too sweet. Instead I will have to sell something I didnt want to but can likely find easier when funds permit. Infi in Infi out.

Thought I had a normal NICK until Oldphysics sent me a mesg saying he believed it to be the more uncommon, "thin nick". Knowing that OP is a billy BA that wouldn't steer anyone in the wrong direction, I did my research and sure as heck it appears I have one of the thinnnest pieces of INFI ever produced :) The guy I got it from said it was barely used but of course when I get there it looked pretty rough, nothing too bad, just a crappy grind and a bunch of blade scratches. I wonder if the shoppe will be able to make her look all pretty again :p

Last but not least, the Argonne Assault. Im thinking its an original CG version. It has some coating wear/nicks, burry edge, and it almost looks like the VERY VERY fine tip is slightly missing, or maybe busse did it like that so people wouldn't brake them so easily? The tip and the swedge are again, very thin, not what I am use to in a tough busse. Its not really much a user I know, but if I wanted to get silly in the woods with it I would be very reluctant as it seems it would be easy to break. Its super female dogging though  Im considering sending it to the shoppe along with the nick in order to get her all tip top pretty pretty, still debating though.

Enough blah, Here are a crap load of pics

Killer scores, congrats
That AA is total sickness :thumbup:

how many of the thin nicks were saber ground? all of the ones I've seen were full flat chisel grinds. was there a second run that wasn't part of the original custom shop le set that was saber V ground?

albeit with a modified tip [edit: The tip on these normally looked like the xxl nicks, I intentially ground an upsweep into it.]:

I had thought that only the XXL nicks were saber V:

I'm also curious about the cut marks on the AA as well as the uncoated chamfer's, but I haven't seen enough AA's to know what looks right. I can't recall having seen that defined of a ball end mill cut pattern on busse scales before...

the Thin NICK looks a little different than mine.

Mine, which is definitely real, doesn't have that saber-like grind line at all.

IIRC the regular/thick NICKs have that sort of grind, but not the Thin ones.

(I don't have mine in front of me, but that's what I remember).

Nice scores. How in the world could a guy have that stuff and only know that they were Busses?

as for the grind, yes, I too have noticed that through the pics Ive looked at. I do not have a mic but its significantly thinner than the .150 nark. Arent the thick nicks something like .220?

On the AA, stop LVC, yours scaring me with those comments, jk.

I hope those are the real deal, seriously.

but the NICK grind and the details of the slabs on the AA make me suspicious.

this just looks slightly off to me:

thin nicks were .090
XXl nicks were .220

like.... theres some stuff here that does worry me. I've never seen busse's powder coat chip like that -I've seen plenty of black powder coats do that (mostly on light fixtures), just not from busse. I've never seen busse coat a blade only to go back and chamfer the talon/lanyard holes. That cnc cut pattern is pretty stark on the handles - busse normally doesn't have that kind of back and forth milling pattern on their hand shaped scales.

the 10th anniversary AA's had a logo

but sterile argone's definitely exist:

It's possible that someone went in later and chamfered the holes, and it's possible that the older powdercoat ont hat particular knife didn't hold up well. I'm just really curious about those scales. How many argonne assaults of the older era came with black paper, and how often, if ever, has busse combat left a milling pattern on hand shaped scales?
