Look what I scored while the Hogs were sleeping *PIC HEAVY*

I sure hope this is real but probably only jerry will be able to tell you 100 percent for sure if its his work or not. Maybe give him a call at the shop and have him take a look.
You've taken some pretty good pics of them.

It should be pretty easy to identify the features I've mentioned as being odd. Jerry will know if they have ever produced a thin NICK with a saber v grind, and he'll be able to tell you if those handles are stock on the AA. I'd definitely see what he thinks about them.

Maybe it could possibly be an eary proto or one of the first ones he made as he was trying different methods. But i do see what you are saying Lvc.
Let's keep our fingers crossed, I would'nt want to hear that Eric had a heart attack or something.

those are good points. ive never seen handles shaped that way, and the chamfering is odd.

but i have seen the coating chip in a similar way. i had a green coated tanker a that had almost identical chips in the coating.

After doing some additional research I am now sure that you were taken. Send those fakes to me for proper disposal. :p :foot:

I could check them with XRF and tell you if they're INFI or not. You'd have to send me one, preferably one of the non-coated ones, though. I wouldn't be able to get carbon content, but the other elements should be enough to verify the proper alloy. If they're fake, I'd bet they're something drastically different from INFI's composition. Should be an easy, quick test if you're interested.

It's real. I'd like to find the person that can do that type of fake for less than what Busse charged for one. How much did you score them for bro?

happens all the time, just not normally stateside.

I'm not saying they're fake; jerry's been making argonne assaults for a long time and it's not unheard of that there would be a custom/variant grind thin NICK out there, but those are some unique features. features I've never seen before. If jerry can validate them then they were not only (I assume) gotten at a good price, but they are also very, very rare even within their model.

I can't read that site LVC, do they have any KZ II's yet? I need a few for my "collection" ;)

THAT is a true hog right here. Incredibly generous offer. I hope they're real for everyones sake!

The scales on the Nick look too good to be fake. The AA may have been modified with chamfering by a previous owner.

I'd have to agree, if it's fake, that's real good work. Congrats on the score!

We know that there have been a very few fake Busse knives on eBay. It seems unlikely to me that someone selling through Craigslists would have fakes.

FWIW' I think a high end fake would be the old A2 steel models .... then it is very hard to tell if done right .... Infi being bespoke as a steel is unlikely to be copied by guys who can make knives that well .... not when there is even more money in the old school A2 series .... my thoughts are like Bravado's .... they are likely genuine as it would be too hard to make such copies and sell them cheaper than they would otherwise go for ...

Sometimes a good thing is not "too good to be true" .... sometimes you do get lucky ....

Sweet scores. I would not get my panties in a wad until I heard from the boss man.

Handles and the holes are what I noticed first.

The coating chips on the knuckles are exactly what I would expect to see on one that some one used to punch a harder target (like punching trees or the wood pile!).

The rope cut pattern on the handles of the Thin Nick look pretty darn exact to be a fake. If you had bought it, shipped from China I would be more worried.

Crossing my fingers for you. But I hope it will turn out exactly like we all hope.

Oh, those do look fake, send them my way.

On a side note, I need to check craiglist more often!
