I bought me the original Flexcut Carving Jack and it has a pretty good selection of various push cut tools that are quite excellent! You can now buy one with more or less of the tools you want also.

Check out Condor too . They make some knives that are very good for the price .

Condor Bushlore! You could probably get the standard and micarta version together for under $100, amazing knife, totally a step up from Mora, at a great price too!

There is no such thing as a "good" bush knife for under a hundred bucks... I wouldn't even begin to consider going into the woods for a day with the crap they sell for under a hundred... if you want "good", you will have to go as high as two hundred... if you want great you are going to close to three hundred or more!!

Frank

See if you can find an Enzo Trapper. It is a very good bushcrafting blade IMO. You can google and find a kit for your price point that is very easily assembled with the materials of your own choosing. Put a bit of your own soul into it.

Here is mine.

Opinion, and a poor one at best. Of course it reads as a sensationalist post intended on inciting arguments...

Nice blade! :)

Not trying to start an argument at all... I stated my belief... I have hundreds of knives, and the most inexpensive knife that fits the bill for what he was asking I would say is the Tops BOB for about $150.00

Everything else on the market that costs less I have checked out and am of complete belief that they are JUNK!! If you are going into the woods you never know if something is going to happen that will keep you longer than expected... if you can't count on your knife to save your life it isn't worth two cents never mind a hundred bucks... if you need to depend on it then save up and purchase something that can be depended upon is all I am saying!!

Read the reviews... they will tell you that those under a hundred are trash waiting to hurt you once they break... and they will!!

I always laugh when someone says you cannot go to the woods without some ….. knife. People have gone into the woods with much cheaper knives for hundreds of years and did just fine, and continue to do so today. The men who opened up the West in the USA and Canada did not have XXX knife and somehow they were able to survive and flourish. Do not get me wrong, as I have many knives too and I do like the more expensive knives too, but to say that anything under $150 will not serve you well is mis leading, at least IMO. John

Tops Dragonfly gets my vote at around $100.
Its nice and thin and cuts like a dream.

Beckers are crap? Since when? I would expect that kind of near-sighted opinion from someone with 10 posts.

I think that is elitism if I ever saw it, I believe such a view to be very narrow minded and untrue personally. Aren't their bush crafter's and surivalist's who actually prefer Mora's? And as Mr. Larsen has said in history people have used what we would call today inferior steel/knives to not only survive but flourish and that continues to the present day without some super steel, super expensive knife. And please be aware that not all of us can spend or justify an expenditure of $200 to 300+ on a knife nor save up for one given our different financial/personal situations. I do not have hundreds, only a few dozen knives but from my cheapest $25 Cold Steel Bushman to my most expensive $200 Fallkniven A1 I would recommend either and trust my life to either if I had to.

I see someone else mentioned it , but I was also going to suggest the TOPS Dragonfly . You might find one for $100 to $120 , but I'd say worth it if that's all you can spend , because TOPS makes a good quality knife .
