Hey guys,

I just recently made the poor decision of buying a Quartermaster knife; the QTR-3 Templeton "Face" Peck.

At first I thought it was an absolutely kick ass knife; super overbuilt, fat, chunky, and stout (which is what I'm looking for).

I got it in the mail today to find that it is an absolute piece of garbage. I should have done my research...

So, can anyone recommend a fat, chunky, stout, crazy overbuilt folder comparable to the Quartermaster QTR-3?

Thanks guys,
Chris

I'll take that Quartermaster if you don't want it :)

I can suggest the ZT 0550. The most overbuilt but not totally unwieldy folder I have ever seen. Also a Spyderco Manix 2 is shockingly stout.

Spyderco Techno has a much better fit and finish than the Albatros in my opinion. Worth looking into for sure.

Boker pipsqueak its short and fat but still gives a great full grip and is s35vn steel with ti framelock and micarta scale, i love mine F/F is really well done since its not the plus line from china its the german made branch

I have been craving a Demko A-10 for a while now. From everything I have read, there are not many knives that can come close to that tri lock.

You may want to look at the TOPS MIL-SPIE 3.5 folder....it eats IED's for breakfast.

Oh, and designed, built, and finished in the USA!

ZT 550 is the perfect balance between chunky overbuiltness and carry-able day to day usefulness. My second one arrived this morning.

BenchMade 755 MPR with M390 blade. EXACTLY what YOU want.
...pretty cheap too.
