my buddy is looking for a knife so that when he is carrying his folding knife and he wants to put his hands in his pocket his knife wont getin the way, something more comfortable.

looking for something good in quality and thin so that it is a little more comfortable while worming his hands in his pockets lol. :D thanks

blade length 3in

pics are very helpfull also. :D

The Small Sebenza is thinner than a Victorinox Soldier.

Spyderco's Caly 3/3.5 is another.

Benchmade 940 is also pretty thin, coming in slightly thicker than the Small Seb.

Besides the Caly, most metal-handled knives are going to beat out frn/g10 at being thin.

Maybe a CRKT Ripple or Eros?

Check out the Boker 2010 Titan 1. It is one skinny knife. The thickness is just over 1/4" (about .260").

I would suggest the Kershaw Leek:

Or there are these:

Top to bottom (Shallot, Leek, Scallion, Mini Mojo, Centofante, Chive, Baby Boa)

I would suggest the Kershaw shallot, leek or skyline, depending on what size he is looking for and whether he wants assisted opening.

I would highly suggest a Benchmade 530. Super thin with a beautiful 3" blade and the arc lock allows for 1 handed opening and closings...

If your friend is okay with the more traditional slipjoints, they'll drop right into his pocket, and not get in the way at all.

Another option is to get a belt pouch or some kind of rig that moves the knife out of his pocket altogether. Some folders come with their own carry case, CRKT made/makes the Merlin, an alternative folder carry rig.

Or, use the pocket clip to clip the knife somewhere else.

+1 for the BM 530. Its extremely thin and lightweight and the thin blade also made it a great slicer. It was one of my favorite edc's until one of my my cousins "borrowed" it...

The flattest knife I can think of is a fixed blade BK11, BK14, Izula or similar in a kydex sheath. When I have my BK14 in my front pocket it never gets in the way of my hand. My $0.02.

+1 on the Al Mar Ultralights. They have very good cutting geometry. Excellent fit and finish. I have two of the smaller ones.

AG Russell has some nice looking 3" folders. don't have any of these, but they look nice.
