looking for an extremely thin folding knife.

If you can find one on the secondary market the Benchmade Big Spender (discontinued) is my go to pocketknife/moneyclip.

+1 on the traditional patterns, especially case knives, very thin edge, wonderful slicers, and great in pocket or hand, and they come in a variety of handle materials.

benchmade 530. one of my favorite knives of all time. carried it for years, its super light, thin, has a 3in blade and just looks good. they are some very nice looking blades. tuxedo knife.

I dont see in the original post that it needs to have a clip or one handed opening. A canoe pattern is thin and a Buck Prince is very comfortable to carry.

the mercator K55 is the thinnest knife i have ever encountered, i doubt you'll find a thinner knife. the mercator K55 (small) has a 3" blade.

If your friend is into simplicity he should check out a higonokami. I just picked one up (the model shown in the pics below) and it's about 40% thinner than my 940, which is already a pretty unobtrusive knife. It's so thin because it's pretty much a sheet of metal folded over the blade and then riveted in place:

I've got the Benchmade Mel Pardue (model 335) and it's extremely thin. Great little knife. Solid lockup and a very sharp blade.

It was marketed as a money clip at the time of purchase and I believe mine is 154CM, although I can't find it right now to verify.

It looks like it says ATS34 on the blade of the Benchmade 335. That is basically the same steel as 154CM.

Does anyone know how the Shoki Naklok works? Does it use a button on the frame to move the linelock? If so, is it too easy to accidentally unlock the blade?

Arty,

I can see that. What I was saying is that I'm pretty sure it says 154CM on mine. I just can't find it right now to verify that. Also, I don't have the Benchmade logo on the side where it says Mel Pardue, only on the opposite side.
