It sure seems so darn close to a good fit in the photos, like someone might have planned this from the start?

Any idea how close the holes line up?...
I really don't know man, sorry. The Holy Terror was made by Busse so it was more than likely planned that way. A good topic for the Busse forum.

is this directory book of knifemakers, avaiable online? or is it only a hard copy?

is it actually broken down into sections like that of intergals and fantasy knives?

what exacly is an intergal?

how can i tell if they can do complex grinds? is there a section in the book for that? or do i just have to call everyone and ask?

that ones actually the same as the ka-bar, but has a handle i like way more.

the blade looks to be perfectly straight and symetrical like the ka-bar.

the only thing is, it doesnt have the serrated bottom. can that be added on with out messing up the finish?

are ontario knives the same, better or worse than ka-bar?

Ka-Bar is a bit better in my opinion, but both are great brands. serrations can be added by a good knifemaker, but becareful as a bad serration job can ruin a knife.

the ontario is cheaper in price, and if its about the same quality as the ka-bar, i might as well go with the ontario since its got a better handle design that i like.

im pretty sure the ontario tanto is as perfectly straight like the ka-bar.

i would have a good smith add the serations in then. is that generally an expensive task? im assuming i can find one in that directory?

i think this is the best/most cost effective way to get the knife i want. i will then just wait till i have a bunch of money to have 1 single piece made and grinded down for the knuckle guard.

thanks for all your help guys.

Only in paperback.
Yep, it's broken down in sections.

An intergal is a knife were a maker starts with a solid block of steel and mills or forges away steel untill they have a finished knife. There are no seperate parts, the guard, blade, handle are all made from one bar of steel

Look at the Beck Tracker knife, Strider nightmare grind, Gil Hibben's work, etc...., if a maker can handle those multi-piece grinds, they should be able to handle making a knuckle knife,

Adding serrations would probably run $25-50, Google "knife customizers" or ask in the maker section here. You'll be able to find one.

thats pretty cheap for serrations. sounds like a plan. too bad it doesnt just come with it. would save me money overall. but oh well.

are smiths who do intergal work common? thats the route i would prefer to go on my custom. all one piece, with rubber grips if possible.

The best way to handle it is to get the knives annuals, then look at the guys that can make really freaky grinds. If they can handle really far out shapes or designs, they'lll have the skill and openness to make a knuckle knife.

:).

Yep, there the "Knives" books mentioned a few posts back. Google or check Amazon for "Knives Ken Warner" and you'll find them, a good public library should be able to get them also.

i found the 2000 edition for 6 bucks used. should i get that copy? or has he made one for the last year?

im acting like this towards YOU in defense of myself. everyone else that is respectful towards me, im respectful towards them. go find another thread to post in, your not helping here.

is that what your reffering to? does he have new editions that come out every year? where can you buy the new editions if he does?

Yes, Ken Warner edited the series from the early 80's-2001, then Joe Kertzman took over. The newest one is "Knives 2007". Try to look through both the new edition and a few old editions too. It will give you a feel for various makers's work.
