I been drooling over some Medfords and ADV's. I think i want a ADV butcher but, would love that style blade shape with a flipper. Big issue is cost. $500 ish is what I was looking to spend. Had some stuff happen last week which made me decide to cap my fun cash spending this month of stuff to $500. But I am open to most any cool knife with awesome flipping action.

Love to hear any suggestions you guys would have. At the moment this is my top contender.

I also love fun colors on knives.

That mini-Butcher is certainly an excellent folder, but I wouldn't trade my Brad Southard AVO for one. Note that "your" referenced knife has a grip length of 4", which is nearly identical to a small Sebenza grip-length. If that fits your hand, then fine. Too small for mine.
Good luck. Both makers are super.

I know its been said a million times but I think everyone should try a CRK at least once.

I recommend a Southard Tolk. It was my first mid-tech and I have EDC'd it most of the days since I got it 6 months ago. It sounds like you are looking at something more overbuilt but my Tolk is solid and I can say nothing but good about it. $485 on Southard's website, he does them in batches so if it is out of stock it won't be that way forever.

I have had most of the midtechs my recommendation is the Tolk; it is the best by a long shot.

Custom knife factory morff 4. It hits all the right spots for me. Great ergonomics nice blade steel great fit and finish. Honestly it might be my favorite production design ever. Slices great and nice cutting edge length for the blade size.

Yea the 3" blade on that mini butcher is on the small side for me. I have large size hands but would want to cary and use the knife. Be nice if I could find the 3.75" version around my price range. Looking also that the Medford praetorian but I think for EDC its just to heavy and fat.

I would strongly recommend looking through GB&U at the threads on ADV before purchasing anything of his. Can't speak to the quality of the knives, but if customer service is important to you...

Yea I been looking into ADV and have seen less than stellar reports of customer service. The crappy lock bar is what is really getting to me.

I didn't offer it, you asked how much they were new.

Sure you did. You said to PM you if he wanted to discuss buying it. Then he said no but thanks for offering. And, what, you were offended by that?.. Cause you did offer dude. He just asked what they go for.
