I'm afraid I like the idea of the Bugout more than the actual execution. I have two full sized models, one from SMKW, gray blade, green grivory scales, and the other the expensive CF/S90V version, which has problems with blade centering, blade play and mediocre action. Unacceptable in a $250 knife. The SMKW model was very good, especially after upgrading to Flytanium titanium scales. No issues with the action and the blade is perfectly centered.
However, after years of using BM's and having no issues with the Omega springs, they've started breaking left and right on me. Further, unless you buy inexpensive aftermarket springs, which I did, BM now forces you to box up and send them the knife for repair. At about $15 bucks a pop, that's complete BS. They refuse to mail out replacement springs.
I've become frustrated with Benchmade. Very expensive with hit or miss QC, and what appears to be arrogant and poor customer service. I've suspended purchasing any more. Like I said, the idea of the Bugout is very good, but the execution is often poor. When they're good, they're great, when they're not you get a whole bunch of frustration.
