looking for pocket lazer

Last Wednesday I was too tired (and lazy) from my hiking adventure to leave the hotel to get dinner. Instead I decided this was an opportunity to test a couple of my best EDC/slicers. I had my Slysz Bowie and my Stretch 2 with me. I had a dry salami, and small block of pepper jack cheese and a flute of artisan sour-dough (thick and tough).

I have been bringing my Stretch 2 hiking more and more lately because I like to eat an apple on the trail and the Stretch 2 has been a great apple slicer as well as a tough knife.

I regularly and openly refer to my Slysz Bowie as my favorite Spyderco. It's a great slicer among other things. Frankly, I expected my informal test to prove the Slysz to be the better slicer of the two.

The actual results were not exactly what I expected. If anything I thought the two might seem equal in this experiment. Nope. Half-way though the slicing test, I just wanted to use the Stretch 2 to finish the job. Although I have the same dual bevel on both blades and both had flawless edge profiles, the Stretch just cut more easily and more cleanly. Despite my feelings about my beloved Slysz Bowie, I have to admit that (in this test at least) the Stretch was the best slicer.

The spyderco Caly 3 in Zdp is one of most slicey knives out there.

ok so i got the hippe kniep and this may be the one stiffer than a opinel so far i just ran it over my 3000 hone and she slices toilet paper cleanly. tonight ill try teaking out the best edge. so far for the money its awasome if it pans out i will rebuild it to take out the side to side play and put some decent wood to dress it up some . thanks for the tip
