You'd be working hard to find a better candidate than a ZT given your prerequisites and budget. Pull that trigger.

Spyderco CHOKWE!

Save for the Sebenza, it will not disappoint. But for under $200 the Subrosa is a good choice, just remove the assist and tighten the pivot. I find the handles are a little thin and remarkably too light but it can be had for close to $150 nib and its very close in size to a large Seb or Zaan. The ZT 055X is a fine choice too but more than you're looking to spend and a different style of knife.

I would give the nemesis knives manx a chance, its a hech of a great knife for very little money. Nemesis knives just doesnt get nearly enough play here.

I'm not sure if anyone has mentioned it yet but the boker albatros is a pretty inexpensive ti framelock albeit a little small.

I am considering a Boker Plus Epicenter when they release the second batch of revised ones later this year.

They had quality control problems with the first batch that was released in 2011.

Save your money and get the reeve knife. Nothing else honestly compares at the 200 pr.

Absolutely. Nothing compares until you get into customs. I've tried just about every production knife under the sun and I always come back to CRK.

Nothing I've owned comes close to the Sebenza. Sebenzas aren't expensive because CRK are a bunch of money grubbers. They really ARE just that much better built. Life is too short for someone to want "a cheaper Sebenza alternative."

The Scott Cook Lochsa aside, if I had any other knife in one hand and a Sebenza in the other I could tell you how the Seb trumps the alternative.

IMO if you want a sebenza just save up and buy one, it's worth it. Nothing against the knives I'm about to mention (I've handled the subrosa and it's extremely nice, Id have bought it if it wasnt assisted), id imagine the bradley is just as nice an the protech probably is nicer than those two. But I think once you get the Bradley alais, bm subrosa, tr3 or what have you you'll most likely still want a sebenza and guess what? You've just spent $200-$250. Thats still alot of $.So I'd reccomend you just jump up to a sebenza if that's what you want. Cause then once you get a seb after your "budget" framelock, you may not carry it as much, and may end up selling it. All of my other knives I own that are in the $200-$300 range are now sitting in a drawer while my smf and my large micarta 21 are constantly in my pocket. Just my 2 cents, hope it helps.

Lol very well said. The Lochsa in s90v is my ultimate Grail knife.

Same, but I've heard of them selling for around $100, I can deal with the issues at that price. Cause in the end, well it still has 5mm thick titanium plates hahaha. Plus I just think it looks awesome.

Here's Some Good Options. Some Have Been Said, Others Haven't.
Boker Jens Anso Haddock
Boker Jens Anso 67
Spyderco Chokwe
Spyderco Sage 2
Bradley Alias 1
ZT 0550
Benchmade 790 Subrosa
Benchmade 760 LFTi
Benchmade 750 Pinnacle
DPX H.E.S.T. Folder 2.0
Spyderco Military Titanium

Also, Not Sure Of Cost... But The A.G. Russell Acies Seems Really Nice!

The acies does look nice, especially with the zdp-189 steel. But it's $375, $35 less than the sebenza and even though I've never handled one, I feel like I can garentee it won't be nearly as good. I thought about it, but I just didn't feel it, especially since I already have a sebenza. If it were $250-$300 I'd do it, but being priced so close to a large seb kills it for me and again, I think I speak for alot of others when I say that.

Combative Edge M1 or SR11. They aren't too common so it'll be cool to have something different. Plus, build quality and design is excellent.

Boker epicenter but I would only buy it if they have fixed it which I have no clue if they have

If you can find a Buck Mayo/TNT it is an awesome knife. Great F&F, and smooth as silk - I actually carry the TNT more often than I do my Sebenza
