Looking for tough heavy use folder

Well i just purchased a Grayman Dua, and should have an Adamas on the way soon. Just have to see how big the Adamas is as it looks very bulky to carry round all day...

Thanks for all the advice and help and the many many options, i wish i was rich lol

Good luck with your new knives! This was a good thread... I learned about a few interesting knives I didn't know existed. Thanks for posting and be sure to give a report on how your choices work out for you.

kershaw one ton and cryo. Don't think there is anything tougher near their price range.

It may have been mentioned, but I didn't read all 4 pages, but man the Benchmade 275 Adamas is THE BUSINESS. It is super hard, tough, coated D-2. Cuts like a machine! Axis lock simply WILL NOT break or fail. The knife will fail before the lock gives. It is a very open design. You could literally dunk it in diesel or kerosene an blow it out clean. I'm not a Benchmade "Fanboy", but for what your requirements are, that seems PERFECT

Edit: Went back and read other posts. I was in such a hurry to help, I got impatient. :-) The Adamas is a MONSTER. If you need more knife than that, it can't be done with a folder. Enjoy it. Cheers.

So what do you think of the Dua? I've been pondering that or the Satu.

I would consider the Spyderco Manix 2. Great value, easy one handed opening, nice lock system. Good luck in your search!

This seems like a great recommendation to me. The regular Manix2 now comes in S30V, it has solid steel liners (not nested, not skeletonized) with a mostly flow thru design. It's a stout knife that would seem to fit your circumstances. The Para2 is another great choice. It does have nested liners (& skeletonized), but it is a complete flow thru design and is so well made I don't think you'd have to worry about crud getting in it. The Manix2 is less expensive (& way easier to find) though, so it's probably the better choice in your situation.

I have the Dua myself and think it's a great tough knife. I liked it so much I sold my Umnumzaan. Very well made and fit and finish was on par with CRK. I did have to sharpie the tang because the lock was a little sticky. I also had some things done to it. Skip to the 3:10 mark.

Blue electro-anodized handles -- now that's a NICE added touch! Looks like you smoothed out the edge too. I recently read another thread where Striderco had that done as well. Again, a cool looking knife!

Cant go wrong with the Dua or Satu! The Dua is much more EDC friendly but is tough as nails!! The Satu is about as close as you can get to a fixed blade in a folder. But you d be surprised you can still carry the Satu reasonably well! I have 2 Adamas' and they are great heavy duty knives but carry pretty bulky! They are best suited if carried on a molle vest or tactical gear! Go Grayman!! Most bang for your buck and size!!
