Looking to replace me Emersons. Strider? ZT?

I wonder if anyone one here mods the locks to accept an insert? Cant be that hard if someone knows what they are doing...

If they do, I imagine it would be very costly. As far as I know, no one does it. You could sell it, then sell the Hinderer scale separate. You might actually have close to the price of a blackwash if you sell it like that. I know the blackwash is $199 on BladeHQ right now

Thanks brother. I didnt know that.. I guess as long as the knife wont close on my fingers, Id be okay with the slight movement.

Yeah, you could always get it carbidized and it will make the lockup earlier, and it might get rid of the up and down play. I think the lock bar might need to be bent a little so it engages harder. Normally that fixes the play, but it also gives later lockup

Personally, I'd just bend the lock-bar over and use it.
I did that on my SmF years ago, and the lock-up has stayed steady at the point it moved to then.
I did it to my Umnumzaan which wasn't locking solidly enough for me, and it too is doing great all these years later. :)

You got the knife for cheap, and it has no warranty...just use it!
You will probably get way more enjoyment from using it after having worked on it than if you get rid of it.
