Got mine on Friday, as promised. I was out of town, so didn't get to open it until Sunday.
At first glance, the G10 was a little lighter than I had hoped.
It's growing on me.
The steel, so far, is awesome. Stropped it lightly on black compound, then green, then plain leather. I used to to open everything necessary to use and store a giant warehouse grocery shopping trip. Still splits hair like nobody's business. Jury's still out on long-term edgeholding, obviously, but I'm expecting great things.
I couldn't be happier with my new EDC.
It's perfectly centered, locks up tight, and opens easily - smooth as glass. I don't know if I got "one of the good ones," or if Spyderco improved QC on the M390 run.
This blue one feels better than any of the std or sprint PM2's I played with before purchase. I also like the extra-grippy G10 - it'll take a few months to see how my pants feel about it.
This guy's a little easier to open than either of my Manix2's, and just as smooth as the tan one I got from the same folks.
Loving the one-handed ease of the compression lock.
Of course, it's my first Para2, so I may be biased.

As you can see, it's a little lighter than my Cross Edge, and a little darker than my Peron2. (I removed the clicky so it's the same 122mm length as the knife.)
In person, it's slightly lighter than my Blue HAIII SolarForce L2P. I didn't carry that one today, so I don't have a direct comparison shot as yet.

BTW, some people seem biased against this dealer for their pricing. All I can say is, I saw the gray sprint Para2 at a B&M store for $10 more than their "sale" price, shortly before everybody else online ran out and they increased their price. These guys went out of their way to accommodate a special request for me, both of the dealer-exclusives I acquired from them are my absolute favorite folders, and their service has been outstanding. And this one arrived before "the first of the year." I like a good deal as much as the next guy, but if the BBS has what I'm looking for I won't hesitate to buy from them. As always, YMMV.

I've had 7 P2's and this one is the smoothest out of the box. I like how grippy the G10 is on this model as compared to the CP20 model. That was my only complaint with that one. I'm not crazy about blue G10, but I really don't care what color it is when I'm using it. I went ahead and put a preorder in for another to put up. Thanks Spyderco for making these special steel sprints. Also, I thank the online vendor for making it happen.
 
As usual USPS dropped the ball. I will not shed a tear when they close this postal hub down.

Maybe I'll get it tomorrow.

The closing of sorting facilities has really hurt usps service. I had gamefly two years ago, back then I could ship a game back and get a new one in six days. I only keep it for winter as I work a lot of hours at a plant nursery the rest of year . Last year I wasn't inrested as no new games came out. I re signed up this year and I havnt had a game swap in under 12 days this year.


Im suprised these pm2 were released so fast. It has me worried that the cf mil m390 will be coming soon. I sure hope not as I don't go back to work till march and I have two on pre order

I missed out on the CF M390 millie pre-order, I might be willing to take one of the pre-order spots off your hands :)

also, I have new in box para2 20CP, I have to find someone with an extra M390 para2 who's willing to trade.
 
I emailed BBS today and they have sent out the first wave of knives. They should have more by the end of the month.

I sent them an email last week, asking a simple question about just making the full payment(and they could ship whenever my number came up) and haven't gotten an answer yet.....not very professional IMO.

Picked mine up today. Cool knife. Like the silver and blue colors. Crazy, coarse, grippy G10. You won't be dropping this one any time soon. Wicked grind on mine, even has a bit of a wire edge but I can fix that hopefully. No blade play or sticky locks. Expensive, but I've got a really good vibe about this one. Big thanks to all the people at Spyderco and Bento Box Shop. :thumbup:
 
Spyderco hit a home run on this one. I'm speechless about the F&F on this one. First perfect Para2 I've held.
 
I'm in fear that this knife, the Orange one, and my ZT 0561 are all going to come in at the same time (I'm a late orderer of the Blue one). That's going to hurt (but my birthday is coming up, so maybe I can work that angle with the wife).

Agree, right up to the last sentence. I have two gray 20CP sprints that are also totally perfect. Nice!!! :)
 
Got my smurf killer on new years eve, and all I have to say is wow.
Its my first para2 and my introduction to the compression lock. It is perfect.
Perfect enough I threw my name into the back of the line for a second. I think the spyderco sprints are going to kill my wallet this year.
