loose or protected, how do you carry?

I carry mine loose in the pocket with a bunched up bandana over it to keep it from falling out. Lately I have been carrying my Schrade 108OT, which is the same size as a Peanut. With the bandana in there, I'm not worried about it falling out of the pocket, and it is protected somewhat. Granted, I carry nothing else in that pocket, but still. Loose it is.

I do not carry anything in my pockets except a bandana.

I almost always carry my knives on a belt pouch.
I have two types of pouches, leather and cordoura
The 3 1/2" leather pouch takes up to 3 1/2", which are the majority of my knives
The 4" leather takes larger stockman and the like
The cordoura comes from REI and takes 3 5/8" comfortable, and the larger will take wide 4 1/4" knives
I also carry a 3 3/4" slim trapper in my back pocket using Ron's backpocket leather holder

Once in a while on a non-work day, I will carry a small 3" or 3 1/4" in a Ron Slip in my pocket

I use a KSF pocket slip on most of mine. Works great, but my knife still collects lint inside. Their website says that its vegetable tanned, so it wont hurt the knife.

Loose.

Although if I had pearl or anything nice, I'd consider some kind of slip pouch.

Loose right front pocket.
However, I'm dubbing to swich to right back pocket carry.
My Alox Solo is soo suited for that;)
Oh, and I never carry anything else in my "knife pocket".

I've been carrying a fixed blade as EDC for awhile now. It's usually paired with a slip joint. So another for a pouch :)

I always carry loose in my right hand pocket. Any change, car keys, and other stuff goes in the left pocket. A bandana gets loosely wadded down on top, for safe keeping. The only other things that go in the right pocket with the knife, is my little AAA Gerber sonic LED light, and a golf pencil to make notes on the business card size pad I made that goes in my wallet.

I carry loose, in several pockets. Most of the time I will have some form of trapper in my right front pocket, with my keys. My left pocket gets a SAK. My right rear pocket gets a bandanna with my orange copperlock below it. There's not much I can't get done with that set up. That's what I take hunting or fishing also. The trappers especially are good at gutting and skinning game.

I once had a mammoth trapper by Rick Menefee,it may have been the first slipjoint I ever had with mammoth scales, not sure.I showed pictures of it,with a certain style pouch, with a zipper, that heald the knife,a pen & cc/ cash.
Shortly after,I was served these papers, from "Bendover & Taycutt" :D,a law firm retained by Wifred Works

I never signed it,but I got rid of my pouches & all my worries went away

Gotta love those guys Vince! Too funny!

I generally carry two knives and I carry them loose -- one in my right front pocket and one in my left front pocket. I've never carried a knife in a rear pocket. The size limit for me for carrying a knife loose in a front pocket is between 4" and 4 1/8" and that's stretching it a bit.

I have and have used pocket slips but they generally add to the bulk of a knife and for that reason, I don't use them anymore.
