Lost my baby. Losing my mind!

The other...Well..I suspect the ex....call it evil..but the timing was juuuuuuust right.

Man, I have my suspicions. Not an ex but a current. She always says she won't mess with me, but will mess with with my collection. Bet Jeeze I hope my suspicions are wrong.

I hope I find it too. I've spent the entire day back tracking and searching everywhere. I'm worried about the blade, it's high carbon. So if I lost it out side, I'm screwed. It's actually the knife in my avitar. It's a really close match to my large sebbie. So to me it's unreplacable.

Wow, that is a nice looking knife to have lost.

I know this sounds crazy but look for this at night with all the lights off except a powerful flashlight in your hand. I got this tip a few years ago and I've been able to find jewelry and all kinds of things that I would not of during the day because metal reflects. Not to mention the dark with a flashlight forces you to be more thorough.v just the other night a friend lost their ring in my 1 acre backyard. We were able to find it no time at night in the dark with a good flashlight.

Lost my car keys once. Wife found them in the freezer? Still don't know how they got there. I wish you luck!

Wow what a story, I really hope you found it.

I know where to look, in the cupboards. I once put something up there when I must have had it in my hand in the kitchen and I wanted to grab something else, right behind that annoying little piece that separates the two doors way up here where the angle prevented me from seeing the shelf.

Wow, I can feel with you - even if it's that far away.
Last time i searched for a Reeve I found it in my office bag.
Good luck!

I have had great success with the flashlight in the dark theory as well.
and it was a knife I was looking for.

next question....what kind of pants were you wearing?
if it was fatigues, or khaki's or the like, with slash pockets, check the bathroom.
I own a bar, and we all pretty much wear fatigues or fatigue cutoffs and in all seriousness, 80% of the items we lose are found in our private bathroom, on the floor.

Sorry about the news. Hmmm. I'm sure you've done these, but some places I've found small things after figuring they were gone for good:

• Behind sofa pads. (need to really really look.)
• Behind/side of toilet.
• Beneath the car seat, slit/gutter around the sliding rail or power adjusting mechanism
• Places where you change shoes
• Garage near/in behind tool box

Hmmm. I really hope you'll reunite with the knife real soon.

You mention you polished it right before bed. Did you check where you store the polishing supplies? Sometimes I'll have my hands full of stuff to put away and leave something that I meant to take back with me.

Another one is shelves above eye height. I've put a knife down there before and couldn't find it for a long time.

Ok, you cut up an apple. Then what happened? Try to remember what was going on last time you had it in your hand. Did the phone ring and you put it down on a shelf? Some one knock on the door? Did you put it back in the refrigerator with the apples? Did you have a drink with your apple (have to go to the basement to get a beer)? You might want to grab a cheap paring knife and another apple and try to re-in-act what you did.

Hope it turns up...it's a real beauty!

Wow thanks for all the replies to this thread. I had to abandon it though. Looking for the knife and posting about it was driving me crazy. So, I figured, if I just forgot about the knife all together, surely it would turn up. Well that didn't work either. Still no knife. So I've started looking for it again. I've gotten some strange looks from the neighbors as I dumped my trash bags out on the front lawn. Annoyed my family as I kicked them out of the living room so I can properly search the furniture. I've looked like a burglar as I search my house in the dark with a flashlight. So, thanks for all the goods ideas and suggestions. Just wish they worked.

Sh#$! I was sincerely hoping you had found it! Well, I think your right, if you try to just forget about it, possibly even replace it, its sure to find you!

Best wishes and here's hoping the damn thing turns up!
