a friend sent me a email about his dealings with a knife "dealer"...
i'm going to paste, but edit the name, as i just wanna rant but let him post the actual smack-down.

Hi Mr. Beyondo! -

You are among the few that WILL immediately believe this!

I called XXXX this afternoon, because it'd been since Thursday when he told me it'd shipped Wednesday... and still nothing--- now get this: instead of sending it Priority Mail as I'd indicated on the order, he sent it -unknown carrier- Ground because it, "was more cost-effective". (For HIM, apparently, because I PAID for Priority Mail)

I had him give me the -unknown carrier- tracking # over the phone- and sure enough- scheduled for delivery August 28th, a full 20 days since I ordered this "in stock now" item. Oh, and it was not shipped Wednesday but Thursday, so he'd fudged on that, too.

Don't worry. I am going to chronicle this in a post... haven't decided whether to place it in it's own thread ("Horror Stories") or as a reply in the "Good Ones" but this is not gonna slide, oh no.

What do you guys think? Frankly, it burns my ass for a friend (and fellow community guy) to get treated this way by a "Dealer".

Believe me, you know who the guy is, and if he reads this, i sure hope he realizes that just because a customer does'nt have a big, well-known forum handle... the word about your lousy dealings will spread!

Not if you don't include the dealer's name. This is what TGB&U is for. Go make a post over there and include the dealers name...or its completely useless.
 
first, as i said, i'm going to let the guy affected make the complaint against said "dealer".

second, he still has not recieved anything yet!

I understand what you're saying, but really, i'm not the one who should be naming names since it was'nt my money. It really pisses me off nonetheless tho.
 
You know, I think that is a conversation I had yesterday with one of our customers, if so, I am very surprised by this and would like talk to him. No one is home at the number, but I will try during the day. Please understand that if it is me, I had just walked in the door from the days mailing as the phone rang, knew the order off the top of my head and about the day it went out, and as far as "cost effective" part, it was not for us, but for the customer. Our "Yahoo" based system, which we are leaving in about a month or so, (thank goodness!) calculates the postage according to value. If Priortiy was picked and the value is so much, it is safer in our opinion to send it _ _ _ ground with insurance, we have big problems with tradional mail sometimes, I Hope this is not us, but if it is, I would love to make amends with this customer who was so nice on the phone. We sell 1000's of knives and get great feedback, never want to piss off anyone! Paul
 
If it is us, and again, I hope not. The order was around 4pm on the 9th, it was for Custom Microtech Vectors that our first batch just plain blew out, second order was already on the way and this order left on the 21st, so 10 days in house (4 pm) and 7 days across US with UPS ground. Thanks Badguy, you keep up with us and I always watch our p's and q's! Paul

Since Paul had a similar call and admitted it is taking 20 days for that order, I think its safe to say that he is Mr."XXXX" ;)
 
Damn, "lousy", that sucks! Never been "lousy", well just so no one gets the wrong impression of our business, because I am one of the most honest as hell, good old North Carolina boys, please look at what others are saying. We have (with repeat buyers) well over 400 great feedbacks and I believe there is one negative in there somewhere! So, hopefully I will get in touch with them. Paul

I don’t understand why you or your friend are so upset Gonzo. Is this knife something required for his job? Did he buy it for a birthday present and it won’t arrive in time? What’s the rush for that would justify all these negative comments and name calling?

Well, I just saw a thread that really upset me somewhere else! It seems our name is being dragged in all sorts of forums!!!!! It is a damn shame that the 1000's of customers we have had over the last few years who are happy, never say much, but the one or two are not happy and think I lie, let it spread oh spread. Just for the record,

#1 I have called several times to talk to this customer, no luck yet

#2 Have sent several emails to the customer and the gentleman who started the thread.

#3 We are a honest group, and if you don't believe it, don't buy

#4 This Wensday/Thursday shipping "I fudged that too" comment, is the fact that we drop off all our our packages to a mailing center where we have an account, My records said we shipped wendsday the day we dropped it off and UPS picked it up Thursday morning, sorry not to have thought of that fact while talking on the phone.

#5 I have a hard time trusting the USPS, so I thought the extra money to be able to track it with UPS was a good idea, damn, sorry!

#6 Anyone with qeustions or comments can call me personally at 1-800-713-7292 ext 27. I visit shops everyday and do mailing during the day, if I am not in, leave a message, I will call you back.

Well, theres an old saying... "Whoever smelt it, dealt it."

I posted an opinion here. It was based on some facts. I mentioned no names!

Someone came into this thread, and *announced* himself as guilty.

Felt they needed to defend themselves, yet claimed to have done no wrong!

If you had not a guilty conscious, if you truly felt all your customers would be nothing but pleased, why would you come in here to announce it's you? Why would the innocent throw up a defense before even accused? How many dealers are amongst us here? Amazing the mind-reading skills. :rolleyes:

My opinions come not only from what you see above, but also from enough other "stories" that there is little room left for doubt. You all are free to draw your own conclusions.

I'm tired of someone so eager to get their name out there, by spamming on every board in sight, while actually contributing very little, and then sh!tting on those who actually become their customers, in return.


Maybe Not all of the time, hell, nobody is perfect... but the "screw" is way too common from this "Dealer".. and folks need to know.

Excuses carry you only so far, and eventually they run out.

All i have left to say, is that you ought reconsider your business practices. Word does, indeed, get around to other boards. Treat people right, and you'll have nothing to fear. It's obvious you're looking over your shoulder these days, otherwise, you would'nt have appeared in this thread.
 
Sorry Gonzo, but I think your "friend" should have taken this up with the dealer personally, and if no solution could be worked out to everyones satisfaction, THEN your friend should take it to the GB&U.

In all the posts I have read I never associated TDE with a poor reputation. So I did a search and found he has received only glowing comments.

I do too. I've been using it quite frequently at work this week.

I have several people asking me what it means, after I use it, and I surmized its definition as 'a fu&#99king retard'. Fu&#99ktard. Gotta love it! :)
