Of course there are forums for everything, including company forums, but we don't have them here at Bladeforums.

Also, finding those forums doesn't mean they discuss QC the way we do. Are there any manufacturer responses?

I don't know how much more to say, especially since this is WAY off topic and Sal asked us to just let this thread die. :):)

Can we just lock the thread now. its gotten to be 11 pages of inane BS. The only thing we learned was that Sal is a good guy and can take someone calling him names.

Here's my summary:

-One angry man with a questionable complaint about a discontinued secondhand knife
-Juvenile tirades against Spyderco and Sal
-Lots & lots of satisfied customers coming to the defense of Spyderco & Sal
-More tirades
-Extreme overuse of this icon:jerkit:
-More defense
-More than reasonable attempt to satisfy said angry man
-More tirades and disrespectful comments and several unfulfilled threats to leave this thread
-Lots of requests to end the thread
-Several people saying Sal is a good guy
-Sal proving he is a good guy by giving away a shirt

End result Spyderco still rocks...angry guy has a tarnished reputation on the Spyderco forum.

How did I do?

Thanks you very much for saving me so much time.

take care

just want to clarify something... I wasn't expecting to have this knife fixed for free... I was more than willing to pay whatever amount nessecary to have it fixed by the repair shop... also, the fella that bought it from me thought he knew what was wrong with it (eccentric pivot adjustment) has found out that is NOT the case... so this knife has made YET ANOTHER DISSATISFIED SPYDERCO CUSTOMER... I told him before he bought it that it was a POS, and now he believes me.. lol... to everybody that thinks "great" customer service is replacing pocket clips and screws for free... sooner or later you will have a "safety issue" with an out-of-production spyderco and you will see how "great" you are treated... I still think spyderco makes quality products (but I won't be buying any)... its just how I was treated by their "GREAT" customer serice, and by Sal in his (condescending) response above, that tarnished my view of him and his company... witness the downward spiral, Sal... your ship is sinking. :D

HAHA Coming back to a month and half old thread and acting like a douche isn't going to gain you any sympathizers. How does conning a person into buying a broken knife off of you equal another dissatisfied customer for Spyderco? I'm not sure I follow your logic, or lack thereof. You bought a knife second hand, you have NO IDEA how that knife was used (or abused) before you got it, and nobody is under any obligation to help you. Get over it, and try not to get sucked into that imaginary downward spiral of yours.

Most of my Spydercos fail the whack test. Great knives otherwise. Just bought the Keating chinook III, Yup , failed the whack test. It`s good for all around cutting, But I would never trust this knife for self defense, or serious survival situations.

You must whack it harder than I do.:jerkit:
I've never had a Spyderco fail on duty as a cop or off duty as a varsity scoutmaster. I have had other premium brands fail me, I have the scares to prove it. I have been carrying Spyderco since the 80's.

I've always wondered how a good lockback would fail, can you provide pics?

ATT: Do not whack knife on the spine. That hurts the knife. You'll get a PFKA. "Protection from knife abuse" order.

Probably if you hit the spine hard and swift enough, inertia will overcome the spring and disengage the lock? I remember this was the case with the Mini-Manix for awhile.

squash it... I don't want any more spydercos... I'm done here, Sal, EXPECT an email from me. LOL.... fanboys... pffft

This doofus didn't want a solution. If Sal put it in writing(even electronically) that this dweeb could get a credit, then he'd get the credit if he so chose to pursue the matter.

Instead he's gone on a tantrum a 13 year old should be ashamed of, and THEN spoke glowingly of his own profanity and how it should have made him memorable.

I sincerly hope he never gets another Spyderco or ANY knife, and hopefully someone takes away anything pointy he owns as well. I would not trust such an irrational whacko with a dull pencil, let alone a knife of whatever sort.

But how much maturity can you expect from the sort who spouts about "fanboys" anyway? I shouldn't be surprised.

ATTENTION: Do not whack knife on spine. Not respectful to knife. If you must whack something, whack pecker. This thread is DEAD.
Lycosa

This thread will only be dead if people stop posting on it. (Hint Hint)
