I also got mine in the mail today. All I could think of today at work was getting home and fondling my new Millie that I bought last March. I knew it was arriving today from my Email that it was shipped. All excited I opened the US post office box and took out that gorgeous black and red Spyderrco box. I'm super excited now! I pulled out my long awaited "GRAIL" knife.

1) G10 much gripper
2) heavy
3) SUPER stiff "flicking open" I know it's new but.........New lock?
4) Why couldn't the lanyard hole be larger AKA Para2
5) The blade appears to be at least 1/4" longer than my other Millies???
6) I love Ti but
7) Would love to see more jimping
8) I know it's the cpm m4 steel but personally I'm OK with s30v
9) Slowly opening the blade feels gritty
10) I'm sorry but such a exclusive long awaited knife should be better.

I know this is a production knife but I really was expecting more from Spyderco to really raise the bar. My SMF is better...Sorry

I'll probably keep it but I'm wondering for my lusting desires if a Carbon Fiber Millie may have made me happier.

But it's OK.........Just not drooling anymore

52- That was just light-hearted fun. Things will work out. Don't worry. ;)

If you are so disappointed get rid of the knife and get something you will like. Perhaps you can then make a post praising your knife of choice with 10 positive bullet points, instead of 10 trivialities? Nothin in life is perfect.

While some of your complaints I could understand ones like "8) I know it's the cpm m4 steel but personally I'm OK with s30v" make no sense what so ever...The whole reason this particular sprint was made because of the M4.

Also "5) The blade appears to be at least 1/4" longer than my other Millies???"........ Disappointment?

And "2) heavy".... Ti and G10...comeon.

Ship it to me for further evaluation, I hold none of those things you mentioned as low points and that knife sounds and looks awesome!

I still don't understand folks that complain about a knife that's not perfectly smooth out of the box. Use it, oil it, and it should be smooth in no time.

It's SnG and it is less than an ounce heavier than the all G10 millie.

SOrry guys, You all misunderstood my post I guess. After rereading it myself I get that. I said I was disappointed but really was giving my overall opinon. Some subjective, good and bad. It's a great knife and highly anticipated. I was just expecting more....sorry

I totally understand the feeling. Sometimes knives surprise you and you get more than expected. Sometimes the anticipation and expectations are so high that you feel let down. Ultimately, the little things may fade into the background and you find the knife grows on you in certain ways.
You just have to decide if it will be a user, a collection piece, or needs to be sold or returned for repair.
I would bet my life it will smooth out with some oil and folding though. I wouldn't rush to make a decision you'll regret, just take some time to feel it out.

You can send it to me to inspect it for you to see what I think. :D

Yeah, I don't understand how many of those things can count as negatives.

Grippy G10... how's that bad? Heavier... you had to know that going in, Ti is heavier than G10. Hard to flick open... almost any knife loosens with use, and flicking is generally outgrown the longer you stick with this hobby, so a good detent becomes a plus. Small lanyard hole... why use a lanyard (on any folder, really, aren't they girly and childish like 'play jewelery'?) on this knife at all, the clip is low enough that it leaves enough to grab out of the pocket... what kind of cable do you want to put through that tube anyway that won't fit? You love Ti, but... what? More jimping... for what, is your 96 year-old grandmother waltzing on it with bare greased feet?! Seriously, Millies slipping out of your hand is a regular thing. And what about the G10 being too grippy for you? You're okay with S30V... so M4 is over the top? Wasn't the M4 at lest half the point of this knife:confused:?

Sorry for getting sarcastic and snippy, but your list is honestly one of the more confusing things I've ever read on this forum. It's almost as if you randomly chose any object around you and decided to pick it apart regardless of its actual merritts.

what were you expecting? was it your first frame lock? if S30V is good enough for you then why did you buy it in the first place? seriously, dude.
