M4 Military....Sadly disappointed Part 2

Its ok. I understand you too totally. The knife was just meh. I sold it to my friend at price i got it.

Im not that impressed with m4 steel over s30v at that steel stock, and this is my opinion, I don't know if the majority of people will use the military in all the intents and purposes of a steel as the m4.
Another thing is the g10-ti combo has been done quite a bit already, and I guess when I ordered it, it seemed a lot better, and when I got it in hand, it looked bland. kind of like "yea and..." type of feel, maybe because the g10 is familiar [meaning the same g10 as the others, and not a difference in feel/texture nor color]

I mean spyderco has done this handle config before, eg leafstorm, and mainly - one of my favorite knives, the chokwe. And of course the other companies that have adopted this hybrid [zt, strider, and some other companies that aren't coming to mind].

I do find the insert of a ss into the lock bar to reduce wear is quite ingenious both to prevent the latter, and to act as stop from over extension.

But oh well. With the money I'm gonna wait till the updated Ti comes out, and pimp it myself. I won't tell you my idea yet, but you will see it :p I just hope it turns out as nice as my thoughts/renderings.

--- Overall yes its a solid knife, just not for me. And I feel the community in general is almost 50/50 about this hype and buzzkill or the overall enthusiasm with the knife. So really its just ends up being a preference issue.

The Military is one of my favorite knives period. The edge is absolutly fantastic on S30V and M4 would be no diffrent. I will be glad to take off your hands for what you paid jumt email me.

Sorry but the OP does have one.
I love bladeforums cause I love knives and I like reading all the different post from fellow knife lovers. I've learned alot and from many of your post I still have a way to go. I thought that this was a forum and that everyone was free to post his personal opinion. But I guess not. I think Spyderco is probably THE Best knife manufacturer in the bussiness along with ESEE. Yes I know no knife is perfect! That's why I keep buying and going into debt over them. But though I'm not as smart as some of you, I still have a right to my personal opinion. Right or wrong. All I was trying to say was that I was disappointed probably from all the hype and anticipation. YES it is a Military with Ti and CPM M4. I guess that's good enough reason to spend 220.00 on this knife. I do like the knife, though sadly disapointed 2 and am sure I will keep it and will be able to smooth out the grit. The truth is after reading the first "Sadly disappointed" post and after a few Scotch's I thought it was a good idea. Och I was wrong!

Wow thanks, from that I know all steels are the same then, right?

Jesus, write it right or don't write it at all. Stop passing on misleading information.

LOL, perfection cost much more than $220. I can't even count how many times my woman has had some type of surgery...if you know what I mean. According to her, she's still not perfect...50 g's l8r.

I understand though...after all, she is a Vegas stripper.

got mine - beautiful knife - well worth the price. that being said, for the first time ever, I have recieved a "dull" Spyderco. the blade has a definite flat spot in it - I'll have to get out the sharpmaker and really see just how sharp i can get this m4 blade.

You are entitled to your opinion and we are entitled to our opinions about your opinion.

The knife looks "meh" to me too...which is why I didn't buy it. A combination of being left-handed, not liking really large knives and disliking titanium framelocks.

Well, good thing you didn't order one! :D :D For what it's worth (not much), I'm lefty and actually find the RH Military easier to use in my LH than the LH version! I could be wierd... ;)

I don't feel any need to have the frame/liner lock on the left side neither. The only reason I would be interested in a left handed version would be for the leftie mounted pocket clip.

Ah, got it. Presumably that will be one of the changes that comes (whenever it does) in the next version of the Military, but Sal has not spoken of any timeline to my best knowledge.

It is all good. But it must have been a lot of scotch...Some of your complaints about this knife are really odd.

The thing I love about the internut is that in a moment of indiscretion you can permanently, and irremediably, damage a company or product, and it just goes on forever. Soon it spreads to other fora, and before you know it, it's a "fact," because on the internet, "facts" really is the plural of "anecdote." Gawsh, I love today's technology. :(

I would have sent it back if I felt that let down about it, whats complaining online get you..If you keep it...put some wd-40 on it, grow a sack, open and close it a few times and move on...
