Just received mine and all I can say is,,, WHAT A KNIFE !

First impressions:
- dripping with oil, but that's a good thing when shipping CPM-M4 steel imho
- blade nicely centered when closed
- razor out of the box
- lock up is SOLID !
- lock engages at about 50%
- opening is smooth, not Sebenza-like, but there's the price and break-in period to take into acount of course
- feels better in hand for me then the liner-lock Military. More substantial feel to it (now I need to buy myself a full Ti Military for EDC :D )

So overall, very pleased with this production and very pleased with the customer service at Knifeworks !

Thanks Sal and Roger, and all the others involved, for making this happen :)

FWIW, banned flake Psycoman rejoined as Mountains Edge. Before he was banned again, he voted a second time that he's dissatisfied with a knife he's never had.

So you can all subract at least 2 from the dissatisfied votes.

I noticed that (brand new member, no posts but voted in the poll) and thought it might have been PM but had no way to verify that. Good riddance to bad rubbish as they say.

Same goes for mine -- the lockbar hits the clip....

Not a problem...you have two over-travel devices! :D No harm if the clip stops it first - but if you relocate the clip, or take it off, or use a different style clip, the tab on the insert will prevent over-extension of the lockbar.

Now that's what I call a well designed double safeguard for over travel! :p

Received mine today also.

Not only satisfied, but ecstatic! :D

It looks, feels, opens and closes perfectly. No grittiness in the lock, shaving sharp out of the box and feels totally great.

It's my new EDC for the forseeable future

Geez, what a jerk. :barf: I hope he's gone for good.

BTW, I am still happy with my M4 Millie. ;)

Very satisfied with mine, pretty much perfect right out of the box. However I have decided to sell mine because I prefer the all g-10 regular version, also because I got to many other projects going on right now.

On a side note, I would really like to see a standard liner lock military with m4 blade steel.

Maybe the top post needs a note that people who don't own the knife have voted and their votes are included in the poll results? :grumpy:

smooth opening
good lock up

not sharp at tip
pushed the small sebbie out of my pocket this morning..

i like it

ANYONE who is disappointed with it, shoot me a PM/email and Ill buy it off you. Those knives are sexy as heck

when mine arrived it bumped my umnumzaan out of my pocket as my regular EDC. the two knives couldn't feel more different from each other, though both are excellent. it's been a few weeks since it arrived and I finally sharpened the factory edge this morning, though it still didn't need it, I just wanted to. my umnum hasn't been permanently retired, but I am loving the pants off this knife. it'll probably live inside when we get a bit more snow but for now it goes everywhere.

100% satisfied with mine
thanks Roger, Sal and the crews at KW & Spyderco for making this happen :thumbup::thumbup:

Mine is as good as a production knife gets IMO. I got lucky as mine is very well centered, locks up perfectly at 50%, and has a nice acute edge grind that is only .021" at the top of the bevel. The lock bar cutout on mine is .049", and when you pair that with the thick lock bar and it should be similar in strength to the standard Millie and it's nice and strong steel liner lock. Mine wasn't especially sharp, but it only took a couple minutes on the sharpmaker (finishing with .3 micron lapping film stuck to the rods) and it was whittling hair very nicely. The CPM M4 seems as hard as the Mule and Bradley, as it is extremely crisp on the stones. I haven't carried it much yet due to the constant rain, but it is dry today and you can bet that the M4 Millie will be in my pocket. It is just an excellent knife, though I agree with the others that a standard liner lock Millie with it's lighter weight and similar strength would be a great platform for Spyderco's excellent CPM M4. It is great to see production knives running CPM M4 at 63-65 RC so it can really perform. I have a limited edition from another company in M4 that you can tell is much softer. It doesn't sharpen up as nice or hold an edge anything like Spyderco and Tom Krein's M4, and RC tests have shown those blades to be 59 RC or so. It is amazing what a good heat treat will do, as it makes the same steel perform much better, like the steel is in a totally different class. Kudos to Spyderco, Sal, and Roger for putting my favorite steel in such a great platform.

Agree, this knife was a great idea!
Mine's in my pocket as I type this.

Too bad this isn't a regular production run,,, now I don't have the heart to use it,,,

So I just ordered a full Ti R.I.L. Millie,,, I think the S30V steel is also better for my usual EDC tasks,,, more stainless then the M4 if I understood right,,,

Now that they're back in stock, buy a Gayle Bradley for the M4 blade. Put it and the all-TI Millie in a drawer together and who knows what surprising things might emerge??? :D :p

While we try hard to do so, it's pretty hard to please everyone.

Eric, Engineering, and the entire factory really worked hard to make this a good knife. Our first for a number of processes. I'm sure it will improve as time goes on, but I thought it was a very nice result.
