I’m really excited about the release. The steel turned out really well. Really excellent combination of properties including high edge retention.

Have a couple of sticks on the way. It’s a bit cost prohibitive for the price range I try to keep my knives in but I’ll give it a shot. Hopefully I’ll be able to get back in the shop in the next 3-4 weeks.

Ordered some to test out! My main concern is grind ability post ht. The hardest grind ability steel to date that I really want to use is s90v so hopefully this is similar in how it grinds.

The carbides are smaller in MagnaMax so grindability should be better than S90V. Polishing would probably be similar.

Looking forward to testing MagnaMax out. I was able to snag one from navman and another from Darrin Thomas (I figure he should have an inside line on the nailing the heat treat for this new steel).

I actually find the grinding and hand sanding much more....pleasant than S90V.

Yeah, the old accounts no longer worked. They send people emails several months ago about doing new accounts when they relaunched their new store.

It showed 48 and 52 of the pieces I ordered still in stock when they closed on Friday, so hopefully I get at least one or two bars to play with!
