Magpul is getting into the knife game with their new, limited Rigger

Here's an article I found about it: https://www.recoilweb.com/magpul-knife-introducing-the-rigger-frame-lock-145021.html

Here's a quote from the article:

We asked Magpul who’s making the knife. Because if it gets boned up in production, it really doesn’t matter how hard they worked on the design.

“We’re treating this just like any and all of our engineered products,” says Marise. “So, wholly, 100% designed in-house at Magpul and made in the USA. We own every ounce of it, top to bottom.”

Sounds like they're making it in-house?... Also the Magpul website lists the knife at $425.

It's now listed on their website at $425.00...still high in my opinion. Decent looking knife but not outstanding. Reading the specs it says the design is by Magpul and made in the USA. No other information on who the manufacturer might be.

edited to add:
iarconfuse posted while I was writing this about a minute before I did...his information may be more relevant

Notice that clever wording. “Designed in house at magpul and built in the USA.”
That does not say Magpul is building it!

Plot twist: Chris Reeves makes the Magpul rigger, which is why it costs so much. Those materials don't differ at all from a typical Massdrop/Ferrum Forge collaboration, yet it'll cost $300 more.

Just curious, where did you see that? I've been browsing around and I've seen no mention of that. I think if Chris Reeves was making the Rigger, Magpul would be advertising it as such. That's a very big name in both the knife and AR world.

Lol it's not fact, I was making a joke, thus the "plot twist" bit at the beginning of my post.

Now, after reading that, about 340 people that had to be first are trying to figure out how they'll cancel their order. And you'll probably get a dirty email or few. ;)

^ thanks, Mr. Evil... (or Dr.)... that's not something you hear every day, well known maker's ex wife owns the company. It actually begs more of an explanation than that. Maybe I better ask somebody.

I can explain, it's a beautiful love story in contractual form that works like this: marriage is a contract that requires you to give your stuff to your wife when you break up. The end.

Also, linkage for your perusal from a few years ago:

She helped found the company and had participated operationally every step of the way! His wife had been running operations for like the last 5 years already.
