OK This is a no knife content thread.

Many of you have made friends here, over time, and some of you have found out that there is a "knife nut" in the same town or a few miles away. I get emails from people saying how they met their current best friend through the forum.

So now would be a good time to post your age, your likes and hobbies and general stuff like that. Who knows your next best friend may be in them same city right now!

Me, I am 33, I like to Scuba dive, Martial Arts, Jet Ski and ride my friend's Motorcycle. Interests include theoretical astrophysics, Astronomy and of course knives, mostly autos.

Next?

Good thought Mike, it amazes me how much I am now able to stay in touch with friends that I only got to see once or twice a year not to mention the new friends I have made through BF and TKCL.

I am divorced living in Atlanta, am 44 years old with interests in geology and minerology, white water sports, dogs and knives of course. (have met very few that I could not appreciate in some way)

I am originally from Chattanooga TN (So I guess knives are in my blood so to speak)

I make a "real" living designing and writing software and have been at it for 22 years, so I have seen a few changes or so over the that time.

The thing about knives that I enjoy the most are it's people. I feel that it is one of the few areas left in society where a person's word and integrity still mean something.

Why not a bit of fun.
I'm just shy of 50 (don't look a day over 19). As my signature show, I'm a photographer by trade and a knifenut by choice. If it cuts or shoots I play with it. My goal is to have a custom knife to match each of my handguns.
As you mentioned, you meet the nicest people on the forums.

I live in Charlotte, NC. I'm 31, married with two kids - a 12 y/o boy and a 9 y/o girl. Between homeschool, baseball/softball/karate/ballet games/practices/performances, I don't have a lot of free time. I'm into knives (duh!), firearms, football (go Panthers), NASCAR (go #24), and spending time w/ the family.

I do process engineering work for one of the world's largest specialty chemical company.

I've met a lot of friends through the forums. The NC Knife Knuts get together about ten times a year for local shows, the Blade Show, and the Southeastern Custom Knife Show. This year we've got people flying over from the United Kingdom and Germany to join us for Blade. Last year Gary Graley drove down from PA to stay with us. We always have a great time together.

I am 42, married and have no children. I live in the greater Charlotte NC area. I am an outside industrial salesman who is between gigs right now. My hobbies are Bladeforums, knife collecting, any kind of racing and keeping an eye on the other NC Knife Knuts! It is the friendships that make knife-dom so special.

Cool Idea. I am 22 years old and living in Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada. I am a philosophy and management student at the University here. Martial arts, philosophy, my girlfriend and my girlfriend take up much of my time, and I also like knives a little bit
biggrin.gif
I am just now learning how to make knives and I would be lost without BladeForums. I complained to my girlfriend that I had no one to talk knives with and a few months later I found BladeForums, the best support group a knife nut could have! Oh, I also go to see as many movies as I can, and did I mention that I spend a lot of time with my girlfriend? I have met a few friends that I e-mail on occasion from the forums. Its neat when you log on to the forums and see XYZ has posted and you wonder what they are asking, how their wife is doing, whether they got that custom talonite blade yet, etc. and you have never met them. Uh oh: I'm getting philosophical. I'd better end this!

Yep, great idea. I'm 48, live in Northeast Ohio, just south of Cleveland. Love knives, fishing, guns, and course 'puters. Quit my job in retail back in '88 and went back to school at one of those "You too can have an exciting career in Computers-schools". In my case, I stuck with it and indeed did end up with a great career. 12 years later, and several certifications, Novell CNE, Microsoft MCSE, Compaq ASE and a bunch of other alphabet soup stuff

I've loved knives ever since I can remember. The first one I got was when I was around 4 or 5 from one of those "bubble gum"type machines. I just became a Grandpa, so there's a whole slew of new knives to buy

Almost 20. Other than knives, anything that flies, and race/sports cars.

"theoretical astrophysics," huh, Mike? How about inventing a OTF auto utilizing a wormhole to store the blade separate from the handle, so it can be as long as you want (as it, carry around a katana handle, press a button, and out pops to whole blade!). See, all that stuff does have a practical use!

Great idea Mike...
I'm 31, have spent 13+ years working in Physical Therapy. Moved from CO to WA three years ago chasing the almighty $$. Been married 11 years. Have two daughters 8 & 5 who are really into car type camping, light hiking etc. Hoping to get them into real hiking and camping someday. Used to hike 8 miles up and camp at timberline then hike the ridges in CO listening to only nature and beauty whereas now we camp and listen to cars drive by and the guys in the tent next door choking after a bad round at the bong!?
Lotsa time, 5+ years, in my youth in Martial Arts while I get very little time to practice now but instead enjoy reading some books on Eastern Philosophy.
Like biking with the family, traveling to British Columbia/Victoria Island and to the Ocean every year (never knew what I was missing in CO).
Have been into knives since I was a youngster and got my first switchblade (only later would I find they were now called 'autos') 'removed' from me at 18 by a relatively kind officer who proceeded to drive his point home by poking me with it, gently, but left little bloody holes all the same...... Worst part was it was my Dads and he still doesn't know (anyone know of a 60's 'ish Mexican swing guard auto for sale?) ;-) Found this site after doing a search on knives and immediately came to the AUTO part and freaked. I didn't even know they still existed or that they had continued development into some of the meanest looking things I'd ever seen (Nemesis was the first MT to catch my eye!). Now I average 2-3 hours 4-5 times a week here, have bought some crappy knives, sold 'em to buy some better ones and have learned a whole lot the entire time. Would love nothing more than to be able to start a Dealership that can grow and support me in my retirement though I doubt I'll ever get there. I guess that'll do as an introduction. :-)

Hi, my name's Ken, I'm a Knifenut.
(Cured? why would I wanna be cured?)
My intrests are many and varied. Most of them fall into the catagory of "Tools that make holes in things."
(Archery, Shooting, knives, hawks, darts, etc.)
I'm also the Site Administrator on a women's self reliance website, http://www.mrssurvival.com
(Send your wife over, we'll get her hooked on knives for you!)

I seem to hold the distinction of being the only BFC member in Arkansas and therefore the sole supporter of several knife dealers in the area. (No, I do NOT share this little factiod with the wife!) Surely I'm wrong, so if you ARE from Central Arkansas, SPEAK UP! We'll get together, drink beer, shave our arms (or my dog's butt) and swap lies!

Hey guys, the name is Mike. I live in Cordova, TN(Memphis), where BBQ rocks and so does Beale Street, and of course, Elvis' mansion Graceland is here, which, I have never really been too, only passed by. Anyway, I like knives, guns, playing keyboards, and going to the Redbirds game at our new baseball stadium, AutoZone Park, and working our local knife & gun shows and I despise yardwork. I am a full-time UPS driver(18 years). I have a wife(15 years)2 girls, 10 & 7, and one boy, oops, 2 years old.

My name is John, and I am in Cookeville, Tennessee. I am 32 years old, married, but with no kids yet. As many of you know, I am a knife dealer. The fact that I am an knife dealer is sort of an accident. You see, back in '97, my brother in law and I were talking about his wanting to start a business. I thought that I would help him get started in whatever he was going to do. He came in one day and said"I know what we can do, we can sell knives !(insert Halleluja chorus). Anyway, I had this old 50mhz computer and built my first website on it, he went out and took out a loan for a new computer, desk, printer, etc. for himself, then never went any further. Now he is still paying off that loan, and I've been through 3 more computers, etc. So basically, I did it, and he didn't.

I like knives, movies, guns, astronomy, and anything to do with the space program. I am pretty much a homebody, but when I do get out I work on restoring a 67 chevy pickup, which is now down to the frame.

Plans for the future: World Domination.

But if you think about it, the forums is one of the only places where a 16 year old and a fifty year old agree on something.
