Make a friend thread :)

Hello.
My name is ED ROZENBOM!!!! My parents are from Argentina, so my real name is Edgardo, but don't call me that, please.
I really dig knives, and aquarium fish, especially cichlids. (for those of you in the know, I've got Scienachromis Fryeri). I have 3 beautiful cats that I love very much. And I have recently acquired girlfriend, and that's why I haven't been writing as much as I used to. I like go hiking and I love movies and going out to dinner and just socializing. TallPaul told me about this website (have known him a long time), so I'll do a plug for him. BUY HIS KNIVES. HE IS A GREAT GUY TO DEAL WITH!!! And I bought a couple of TOPS knives off of him..... beautiful pieces that handle very well. I also read quite a bit. Mostly science fiction. I like Larry Niven, Ben Bova and others.... and Steven King too, and not just Sci-Fi,. That's it.....

I live in the San Fernando Valley on the north of Los Angeles CA, with the girl I went out with in high school about 36 years ago, otherwise known as The Wife. That lets you know about how old I am. Daughter, son-in-law, and the three grandkids are up in the Pacific Northwest.

Interests, besides shiny sharp objects and spending too @#$% much time on the Net, include arguing about religion and politics with company, listening to classical and country music from strange countries, three cats ... too damn long since I've done any serious walking in the mountains ... and I need to get back to my workshop one of these months and make a knife!

And I'd move this thread to Community if it was started by anybody other than the guy who pays the light bill.

Okey dokey, my handle is Joseph King and I'm 42 years old, though sometimes I forget and still think I'm 21. Happily married with a daughter in college and I still have a few dollars left to buy knives. Originally from Winter Haven Fla. but been down in S.W. Fla for the past 30 yrs.
I've been a Respiratory Therapist for 20 years, spending the last 5 working in a Hyperbaric Chamber (decompression tank),so I dive quite often but never get wet.
A certified Knife knut and Gun nut, sometimes one more than the other. Usually go shooting at least 2-3 times a month to keep my skills up, and practice with my carry kknives also. Studied kenpo four years reaching first degree brown. I still work out alot at home, but hope to go back and get my Black once my daughter finishes school.
I'm an avid reader and a frustrated writer. Sometimes I play video games to unwind.
Once a week I like to get a good cigar and sit in the hot tub, wondering what the poor people are doing. Then I realize "oops, I am a poor person"

I spent 6 exciting years in the Marine Corps (OOOooRRaaahhh). I came back to TN, graduated from U.T. and became a Quality Engineer to pay the Bills, but my true vocation is Gentleman Farmer. (That info should give you some insight into my BF name - HillBillenigma). I enjoy working with animals, being outdoors, camping and collecting knives.

I've only been collecting for a couple of years, mostly Randalls and custom Fixed Blades. I'd like to find someone near Chattanooga / Knoxville who is a seasoned collector and has similiar taste in blades to share the Hobby.

sidetracked into aquiring many many sharp things instead. Having a preference for Bucks about 4 dozen so far 80 + all together. Old ones, new ones unique ones .
I came across a reference to Blade Forums in rec. knives a few months ago and this has contributed largely to my downfall. I have had to go back to work to pay for this new addiction. I can stop any time I want too I really can. I just don't feel like it right now.
I stoped now. I also like to ride my Harley a 82 FLT I've had for 16 years, landscaping our yard, cooking for the crew and if you want to see my art http://www.mikeodden.com

Hello All,

I know most people would think I am some old dude sitting in a rockin chair with my knives but I am only 26. YUP, but I do have more wisdom than my age though.hahaha Now that u heard some babble on with some real stuff. I live in NYC and had a love for knives since I was 11. No i was not in any gang. I just love them. The first tool man ever made. I am a pastry chef and get to work with them everyday. It does get tiresome after 18 hours worth, though. But I won't complain to you. Now, since ERIC said, " i am the first malaysian to post on this topic", I guess I will be the second. Same goes though, if anyone visits NYC I will offer my hospitality and take you to some Malaysian restaurants. Of course, flying 22 hours to get the real thing is always better but just in case u dont want to. Just look me up. Later.

Come out to the house sometime!

Hi, my name is Clay and I am an... whoops, sorry, wrong forum...

My name really is Clay and I am 27. I was born in Kingsport, TN and lived there until I came to Indianapolis to go to Butler University. That was 9 years ago, and after getting my degree in Psychology, I started working with computers and have been ever since.

I have a beautiful girlfriend whom I have been with for almost 2 years. We are moving to Louisville, KY this summer so that she can attend the University of Louisville for graduate study in English Literature in the fall.

We have a dog, Maudie, and 2 cats, Ernest and Cassie. Maudie has anxiety problems and is going to see a behaviour specialist at Purdue University this summer. Ernie is your typical curious feline and Cass spends most of her time eating and hissing at the other two.

My grandfather was big into knives, guns, watches, lighters, etc. and I think I got the "gadget bug" from him.

Other than knives, I like to shoot my firearms occasionally (my favourite is trapshooting). Also into flashlights, Palm handhelds, watches (recent interest), pens, multi-tools, etc. Also big into computers, primarily Macintoshes.

Other activities I like are mountain biking and camping/hiking (hope to much more of both when I get to KY). I was an avid diver (PADI Master Diver working on my Divemaster Cert) until I had an accident on a dry suit training dive and have pretty much been out of the water since. Hoping to get back into it at some point, though probably not to the same extent.

Met alot of good friends through this place.

I'm single. I have no children (that is a good thing for someone of my age). I'm a Taiwanese-American, and my username does not imply that I am a communist, because I'm strongly anti-communist (I'm Taiwanese).

Hi, I'm Tim Driscoll, 41 yrs old, active duty Air Force (23 yrs now). Currently stationed in Hawaii. Besides knives, I'm into guns (just a little bit), airguns, and motorcycles (got me a tricked out Harley Davidson). I know there are more military folks that visit this site than just me.

Hi all, my name is Bill Veith, and since I just finished reading all of VG's post, I will try to keep it short!

We live by Wichita Kansas. Get it? Kansan= knzn. I am 43, and the older I get, the more it hurts!
Married fifteen year, and two boys, 11 and 14. When not going to baseball, football, and basketball games, there is usually school stuff, and music concerts to go to. (the boys are into sports and music!)
My wife is a nurse, which is a good thing, because I try to make a living my making dust--sawdust, and plain old dirt dust. Carpenter, and farm.
Besides knives, I like to fish and hunt, when not going to band concerts, basketball, football, and baseball games. Bowhunting is one of my main passions, and I shoot recurves and longbows. My oldest boy shares days in the hunting field with me, and that is wonderful. Any other Wichita knifeknutts, (besides sniper308, and Steve45, whom I have already met and spent enjoyable conversation with!) give me an email sometime!

Well, I'm called Taz cuz I'm a hammer thrower for track and field at York College of PA, where I am a junior next fall and majoring in criminal justice and minoring in spanish. I live in East Hampton, CT for the summer and am in York, PA for college for most of the year. I'm 19 and I enjoy reading, knife making (just started), lifting and throwing heavy things, like that POS printer that got thrown onto the roof of a nearby dorm.

Hey, Gary Graley! My older brother goes to Elmira College and graduates this weekend! How far away are you from there?

Alright then, for my real reply...

I'm 24 years old, married for 5 years and have a 3 year old son. I'm an accountant and a fundamental Baptist, but I'm not as boring and stuffy as you might think.
tongue.gif
At least, not usually.
smile.gif

Besides knives and knifemaking, my interests are shooting and the RKBA movement, which I don't have nearly as much time for as I'd like... I'm definitely looking forward to my son being old enough so that I can combine shooting time and family time!

Almost forgot the music thing... I mostly listen to hard rock and heavy metal... favorites are AC/DC, Pantera, Iron Maiden, and about 100 others.
