Man Gear Buck 110

Your brother David, informed me of this one. Sierra Trading Post had them...maybe on close-out. I do believe it's a factory 110.

Factory ????

That blade will snap in half at the 1st hard use... maybe even the 1st medium use.

So it’s safe to assume Buck did not do this? When they break will it be a warantee? Will you even work on it? It’s been modified.

Just curious, I’m not getting one.

That big hole will compromise blade strength.
I don’t like it, but I don’t like any of the factory fixed blades with the cutouts shaped like animals and stuff. I don’t even like nail nicks.

I don't like cutouts in blades either especially this abomination, and definitely most dislike those models with the animals cut out in the blade.
Nail nicks I have zero problem with but definitely appreciate it when they leave it off of a knife that doesn't need it, the 110 doesn't really need it and If they offered an LT without it I'd buy one but I'm not holding my breath.

As far as this goes I feel people have convinced themselves that they can't live without one hand opening because they're used to it and simply like it, nothing wrong with that if it's your thing.
I was like that for years as a teenager, but have it up and don't miss it.

if ya only had one hand or arm ya might feel different. like some of our brave men and women veterans who sacrificed for us all.....

I dont think it's that they convinced themselves they cant live without it, I know I didnt. I carry and use old school type 110 daily in a belt sheath.....also like thumb studs and pocket clips and on a 110. I think its more so that innovation and modern isnt always a bad thing at all. you just dont like it, and that's fine, but many do.......

While working I often find one hand deployment convenient.
Dont particularly for this idea, but i have often wondered if it was done similar to the vantage, then the thumb stud wouldnt get in the way.

To do it right on a 110 I think you would need to redesign the blade wider or with a camel hump and hole for the thumb. This design doesn't look very funtional even with the handle cutout. Just my opinion. I wouldn't mind giving it a test to find out though.

I would take this over the awful camel hump any day, I won't argue the functionality of the camel hump and hole but I can't stand the look of it.

I aspire and intend to own one.........

Alas it has become a torturous and grueling endeavor.

Those who have them are holding tight or asking the moon.

I have 2 of those one left hand one right. They have been put away indefinitely. They are very dangerous. They do work but the blade swings out the bottom and can cut your pants or misplaced fingers. Might take awhile to be confident about pulling the knife out and not cutting something.I thought they were cool when I bought them but after trying and pulling on the butt of the knife you would need to arrange your hand further up the handle and get a grip on it. I use an open top sheath with a thumb stud. If your looking for fast blade deployment an OTF is what you need. The dangerous part is putting the knife back in the holder. You have to put it in open and then fold the blade to hit a plastic wheel and not close all the way.

Safe, simple, easy, quick one hand deployment.

Who could ask for more? Buck has many models like this........many years of success--so why worry?

I had one but gave it to my brother. Just waiting to hear about the stitches...
