Manix 2 gray handle 52100 live

On the fence about this one.. only because im wondering if bladehq will release one in carbon fiber the minute i press "order now"

think about it, bladehq released m4 in military and pm2 and then manix.

and they also released the military and pm2 in 52100... did kw just beat them to the punch with the manix?

52100 pm2 is 176.. manix would be around 160 ish but with carbon fiber (if following the usual order)...

Btw, im thinking of getting the pm2 in dlc m4 and swapping the scales with my 52100 pm2 for an all blacked out m4 pm2, what do you guys think?
The black coated PM2 M4 blade with the CF black scales would be a good looking knife. I like that idea

Damn it! That knife is beautiful!

I dig it more than the jade M4 one. I really need that refund to come in!

Put a drop of Tuf Glide or oil in your pivot once a week and it will keep that area free and clear of corrosion. I've been using my M4 Millie for close to a year now and everything is patina'd on it, except for the pivot area, which stays lubricated with oil.

Just wanted to follow up on this as I will be carrying and using this knife.

I normally use Ballistol on my knives to clean and/or lube. I assume using it on the pivot area to prevent rust will be ok?
I just would hate to have it rust and don't really want to fool with disassembling this knife just to keep it lubed. If I have to do that then I don't want it.

Forgive me but this is my first knife ever with 52100 steel.

I think the DLC will help with the corrosion. Ballistol should help too. I apply the lube, cycle it a few times to work it in and blow the excess out with compressed air. Then I'll wipe the blade down real good.

Unfortunately the blade is not DLC coated by the pivot.

Thanks for the advice. I'll use my trusty Ballistol.

Well, it's halfway coated...

So from that pic, looks like the flats are coated, but the outer radius is not?

Excellent picture Scooter!

Bravo, is there any chance what you’re seeing on your DLC blades where the washers are located, is possibly metal transferred from the washers onto the surface of the DLC?

DLC is pretty darn tough stuff, and doesn’t wear easily. I see this on DLC machine tooling all the time, and if well-cleaned, you find the DLC in near perfect condition, and what you thought was metal showing through the DLC is actually just metal deposits on the surface. Just wondering, especially with Scooters’ photo showing a near perfect DLC surface.

Yeah, that could be possible. I did clean and wipe down the blade before I put the aftermarket scales on there. Either way, a drop of lube in your pivot every now and then should protect it!
