I've been carrying and using knives for longer than I can count. I have a dozen modern folders that I carry and use. I have never disassembled a knife and I'm not likely to ever do so. I have 4 of the LW versions and don't worry about the rivets.
 
I think they are different enough to justify owning both. The G-10 version feels like a higher quality knife but for actual carry and use, I think the Lightweight is a better option.
Pretty sure I read on the Spyderco forum that a switch to screw construction is planned for the Lightweight.
