One of the knives they do with the lettering down the spine would make a great forum knife! :D :thumbup:

It is surprising that while Boker markets them they do not have any of their logos on either the knife nor the box. If I were asked today what knife I'd miss the most or would order if I lost it, no doubt it would be yet one more of these !

That is a nifty knife...I may have to swoop up one of the black/orange handled ones at some point. Looks like it will take a lickin' and keep on tickin'!

Again remember it is a pinch grip to open the blade, do not even attempt using that nail looking groove, I'm thinking of taking a dremel with a cut off wheel to grind it deeper near the one end, may do that and see if that will cut into it.

Here's a couple more shots;

I can't figure out what that metal tab is, about a third of the way from the butt end of the handle.
Anybody know?

That's the lock release lever.

Suspect the nail knick is there just for traction to help pinch open it. In any case, got one in blue/black coming to my local enabler.

Once again you're leading the way, Gary! I feel a run on Manly knives is imminent now.

I really love how D2 carbides rip through cardboard, rope another fibrous material. I didn't know there was a European steel so closely related to D2. Thanks for the photo exposition and user report. :thumbup:

Sounds like you got one of these. My Laguiole par Chambriard has the same sort of slip joint. Makes for a very sturdy pull, and strong "lock" when open.

That makes the most sense to me, thanks and yes that D2 family of steel cuts great, plus they ground it down thin enough it would cut pretty good anyways.

I just got in one with orange/black, I shouldn't have but wanted to get another when I am trying NOT to get another knife, so likely I'll have this one up on the exchange soon for a little less than I paid.

and thanks Robb I highly recommend these knives, great workers I feel.

and yes Daniel, the slip joint is more like that lower image you posted, except I think there is a V ground in that the corners fall into as the blade goes through it's opening cycle.

Gary I'm glad you like the knife but I wish you hadn't posted about it.
Waiting on a black & gray..:)

Hehe, you'll thank me later :) as Mr Monk was fond of saying on that detective show.
