Marathon Giveaway

As a company, Kershaw could stand to improve their balisong lineup ;).

Seriously, though, the website could use some work. For one, the search option isn't very good. If I type in "Junkyard dog ii composite", I get no result. If I type "JYD", the composite model is the only one that comes up. Also, "junk yard", while used in the description, also turns up no results when searched for.

I'd like to see more of a presence in retail establishments. Chains should all carry Kershaws, not just renamed junk with designer labels. Companies like Target for instance. I'd like to see more than the few knives that K-mart carries out there, with more advertising.

To pick up a kershaw is to be hooked. It's that simple. For many years it was wait for the gunshow, or buy what was available at K-mart. The internet is already good, with all serious knife websites carrying Kershaw. There is too many consumers that haven't heard the name yet, or picked up a kershaw. That's simply unacceptable

Thomas, tell me who makes the descision at Target chains and I'll make a sales call about 03300 hrs at the guys house. My demonstration would be memorable and captivating to be sure.

Hall, in 2:11.01.

I think the company should improve their website, particularly the 'search' function.

edited: I would also like to see more 3.5" - 5" fixed blades.

Winner- Martin Lei 2:07:19 (although I hope Ryan Hall wins)

Improvement: More detailed info on knife models (including sprint runs and special orders) with a comment from the knife designer about his knife features and how to best use the features, Ie what kind of use the knife is best suited for. also number each knife.

It's hard to improve on a company as good as Kershaw, but I would have reiterate what some of the above has said and go with revamping the Kershaw websitewith added info on older models.

Thanks Thomas

Kershaw is a great company! But, maybe include customer testimonials on the website as well as more graphics/knife pictures.

Add Tim Galyean to the Designer Bios, on the web site. He has been missing for way too long.

Imporvement? I agree, improving the website would be nice. More stuff in orange. Something with an orange handle and a black blade would be sweet.

the marathon is under way people....hope i win...i need me a great kershaw to carry!.....ryan

Oh, Ryan why hast thou forsaken us?!?!
But seriously good job to all, especially on the first Kenyan Olympic marathon win.

I Would Like To See Many Models Offered Without The Ao, And With A Traditional Thumb Stud/hole Rather Than A Flipper.

Thanks, And Keep Up The Great Work!

I predict a win for Atsushi Sato of Japan in 2:08:28.

Since you like running, I will suggest offering a small line of runners knives. As a runner, I have found that almost all folders are too heavy for running--they bounce around way too much. I run w/ an old William Henry ti-carbon model with 3.25 inch blade. It is plenty sturdy & weighs only 1.46 oz.

How about a version of the ti-zdp mini cyclone with no AO and construction similar to the old WH's (liner lock, carbon fiber handles) with a weight goal of, say 2.2 oz. That would be perfect runner's knife.

Just a tad late on this one wutitiz.;)

Congrats GC on winning a sweet knife. Good guess with 2:06:30, you were only 10.8 seconds off from 2 hours 6.32 minutes.

Thanks again Thomas for providing a great prize and having a fun contest.

Oops I posted too late, I thought it started at 7:30 PT. Oh well time was off anyway...and I've got my ti-zdp mini cyclone so I hardly need the prize. But I reiterate my request for runner's knife. Despite the proliferation of folders, there aren't that many out there that fit the bill.

I would buy one of the new WH's w/ clip & zdp blade, but I do not care so much for the button locks, and WH no longer offers liner locks. There are tons of runners out there nowadays, and I would think would be a good market.
