I think that's 2 hours 6 and 32/100 minutes or 2 hours 6 minutes and 19.2 seconds.

His time was 2:06:32. Everything I've read indicates he set an Olympic record with a time of 2 hours, 6 minutes, 32 seconds. If I'm wrong I would like to know.

Thank you Thomas and Kershaw once again, I've been researching the knife, and so far just think it's phenomenal. Thomas, I posted a message on your "visitor message" profile page. If there's a better way to get in touch with you, let me know and I'll go that route.

Action pics/review to come!

You're right. I misread the time posted on the 2008 Olympic site. DUH! I could've sworn they had it listed as 2:06.32, but sure enough its 2:06:32. Being 2 seconds off is an amazing guess, infinitely better than 10.2 seconds.

Hi everyone - just a quick followup on my brilliant, precise, scientific (read: LUCKY!!!!) guess on the marathon.

I'm a huge triathlon, cycling, and running fan. I've run a few marathons, and followed the race and its buildup really closely. Although I think Hall/Sell are great champions/Americans, Ritz is my favorite runner, and here is a link to a post-marathon interview that he gave. He says in the link that he was shocked at how fast the race was, and the most people thought the times would be closer to 2:10. All three of those guys have plenty of years left in their careers, and a major marathon victory could very well be in the future for an American distance runner.

It sounds like you've used the classic SWAG approach to predicting the outcome. Excellent work!
