Well............I've read this thred thru a couple of times and I have a question.
This whole experience seems to be a personal issue between the 2 parties involved and has nothing to do with the BF Community at large. Why was this brought up here for all to see? It seems the intention was to shame the offending party into a return of $$ and items by exposing him here.
That does not seem right to me. Just my opinion.
O
It's here, so that the knife community can determine for ourselves, what kind of folks we choose to deal with, characterwise. The fact that it took a public exposing to get him to pay up, is an indication of character, or lack thereof. A true friend wouldn't allow it to get to that point, IMO.

+1.
I didn't see it coming, honestly. The whole "living hand-to-mouth" thing doesn't square up to me with a guy who posts new knives he's gotten quite often. I remember not long ago he was posting pictures of his new Buck/TC Nessmuk, and that ain't a cheap knife.![]()
The new knives I buy are to build my stable for my sheath business.
The Buck/TC Nessmuk was acquired in a trade, and I got a really good deal.
Kind Regards,
Marion
Ok, that's fine. But, don't say you live "hand-to-mouth" so you can't repay money you owe a guy, and then "build your stable" and post about it on here. It looks shady, and dishonest.
Would you fault someone for putting gas in their car to go to work? Sure, that guy could not drive and pay someone back, at the expense of his ability to go to work, but no one I knows would expect that. The gas is seen as a necessary expense.
I buy knives, so that I can build sheaths, and sheaths are my only business. That seems like a reasonable business expense, a necessary expense.
But, I did not use it as an excuse, those are just the details that are being picked over by the bystanders to Aaron and I's drama.
I owe him money. And I will repay him.
I will send his knives and his saw to him, shortly after I find out where he wants them shipped.
Kind Regards,
Marion
Ok, Marion. You're right. Gas metaphors aside, you run a sheath business which you promote on this site. We, the "bystanders", are members of this community. I think we have the right to comment when you do another member wrong. That's what GB&U is for. It seems to all have started over the sell of a knife, and the profits that ensued from that sale. Did you make that sale here on BF? If so, how is this "drama" any different from any other negative transaction post in this subforum?

Sorry to hear about that. Unfortunately, it sounds like par for the course for Mr. Poff -- the guy is incredible in terms of the total lack of integrity and professionalism with which he treats his customers. As I've said on another of these threads, I'm amazed that anyone continues to give him their business -- I never have and certainly never will.Hi Guys, I am from N.Ireland and felt compelled to write and comment on this Joker! Marion Poff also ripped me off. I paid $165 for various sheaths and was told that they would be with me within 6-8 weeks, 15 weeks later and no replies to my many emails I am left to conclude that I too have been taken for a fool. I have read the posts on this and to all the guys who are sitting on the fence I have this to say, this guy has knowingly commited a fraud in which he has taken peoples hard earned money with no intention of every supplying the goods, he hopes that people will put it down to a bad experience and forget about him. NO CHANCE! he uses the excuse that he is no good at this side of the business and that his health is not good, I would question both of these statements, he is a conman who will prey on peoples good will to give a guy a break and then he just carries on doing the same thing again. We, as a community have a duty of care to other members to make them aware of this guy and his shady pratices. I have informed Paypal of his conduct and lodged a formal complaint, I have also informed my credit card company and they will be persuing this guy. I am also looking at informing the correct authorities with the view of getting him prosecuted. I have no time for people like this that simple con people. This guy needs to be stopped and stopped now!
